Alright guys, snow this weekend. It's game time!!

For those that have been anxious to play in the white stuff, for us Northern Illinois residents, the time is nigh. Depending what weather you follow, it's going to be around 2"-5" (and more if the more dramatic models are to be believed). So get your winter coats out, get your Cubs gassed up and ready to go and post your pics here when you get em! :beerchug:

cubby102 11-18-2015 05:05 PM

Heck I haven't even got the blade or thrower mounted yet. Been to busy working on my truck.

J-Mech 11-18-2015 05:35 PM

Ryan,
Dude.... you are outta your mind. :biggrin2:

I'll go hide under a rock all winter. I'm never as ready as you are to play in the snow. :Snooty: LOL. :beerchug:

As a side note, I'm hoping a meteor hits, the polar ice caps melt and we all party on the beach. :biggrin2::biggrin2:
Sam said he'd buy the first round of Scotch.

I'm all ready, the BX is chained up and the plow is on it. It's cocktail hour and I'm on round 2. :beerchug:

I was waiting for you two to jump in :biggrin2: For the record, I come across more enthused about winter than I actually am. Don't get me wrong, I love playing inside a cab on a tractor in the snow...the first dozen times. But by the time winter is over, I'm sick and tired of being up at 4am to plow at work then turning around and working an 8+ hour day. I'm tired of loosing sleep, waking up every couple hours to check and see how much we got, etc.

That being said, I know snow is inevitable. So I try to have as much fun with it as I can and enjoy the ride! :beerchug:

Playing in the snow is always better after cocktail hour!

drglinski 11-18-2015 08:17 PM

We won't get enough here in SE MI to amount to pushing I'm sure. Enough to be annoying but not enough to rouse the 147 from slumber.

That being said, I took it for a ride yesterday. Dumped some fuel stabilizer in the tank and had to work it through the carb. that's enough of an excuse for some backyard laps as any.

CSXengr 11-18-2015 09:22 PM

SNOW really! I just finished picking the last of my beans and tilled the garden in today. Now I have to get all the leaves up and turn the A/C off. It was 70's here in NC today. Lord who said the S word.:biggrin2:

We won't have to worry about snow here in NC. If we do the 982 can be ready fast. :biggrin2:

bocephus1991 11-18-2015 09:53 PM

Supposed to get flurries or light snow Friday night, not supposed to stick! I hope not!!! I'm falling behind on stuff. Just finished mowing the field last sat, need to work on the house deck some and get the 1211 ready! I could use a cocktail too, or a dozen! Lol

SS5150 11-18-2015 11:48 PM

Put my plow and thrower on my 782s this past weekend, installed my new power angle kit (I think I've found true happiness now) and installed the wheel weights on both tonight. We'll see how it goes. I've heard anywhere from 2-8" here.

zippy1 11-19-2015 12:14 AM

Well I hope that you all that want snow get every inch you wish for this year.
As for myself, it can stay one square mile away from my place and I'll be a happy camper:beerchug:

No snow here yet but the 1811 is ready for it when it does come, the only thing I have left to do is get new oil lines made because the one leaks a little.

Love the 1811, hate the oil lines. I had one or two that did the same thing :bash2:

I knew the second I pulled the side cover off that the lines weren't gonna last long and I was right, I'm gonna take them off tonight so I can stop at the hydraulic shop on my way to work tomorrow.

j4c11 11-19-2015 01:01 PM

I'm still mowing grass over here... Maybe I should have cut down on the fertilizer :biggrin2:

jimbob200521 11-19-2015 01:21 PM

Hope I got enough salt for this winter!

You guys gotta stop. It's too early for that much snow.:angry:

SS5150 11-20-2015 11:16 PM

I just plowed my driveway, maybe 4" so far. Started snowing about 5:30. Buddy about 1/2 hr south has almost 8" already..

Send some this way! We're getting snow but it's not quite the 5-8" I expected. Thus far (after 3 hours), we've gotten an inch or so. Waaaa

Naw I nappped after putting the Snow thrower/Chains on the little 782
I didn't chain up the loader tractor just yet, them chains are a little bigger for the 15.5x38's.
Last couple of years, I didn't need em' anywhoo.
Then I Kicked back in the lazy boy, watched RFD TV, and got my "pre sleep":beerchug:
Funny, for 40+ years I worked midnights, it took me pert-neer 4 years to get back to sleeping @ night, after retirement.

Forgive my not understanding, as I am Southern to the core. Is all that salt/de-icer for your house, or are you clearing snow "for hire"? Makes me glad we just wait a couple days for it to melt.

I wish I needed that much last for my house! No, that's my salt stockpile for work. I do snow removal for our sidewalks (and we've got a lot of em) so I usually order one pallet (about 50 bags) per winter. Usually gets me through with a few extra to start the next year. Darn southerners :biggrin2: :beerchug:

Bas%$#@! :biggrin2: Been at it for about 4 hours clearing snow here. Through a salt spreader that fell apart, a tire that popped off the rim, and having to install another set of tires/rims, I made it through this one. Guess I got the bugs worked out of the system now :biggrin2:

You know, us Southerners spent the afternoon trimming shrubbery. Got hot enough I didn't even wear a coat. Just sayin......:biggrin2:

Believe me, I work mine, but I ain't about to make one that nice looking and go get it dirty! (At least that's the excuse I use not to bother painting mine)

SS5150 11-21-2015 05:30 PM

Got my drive cleaned up. My twin stick 782 works pretty good but the S1 KT is really burning oil. Still it isn't getting run that hard so I can use it while I figure out what I'm going to do with the engine.

The red 782 has my QA42a on it. Mom called about 2 asking if I could go clear their drive so they can get her car out for church later. Drove the Cub over there & had the drive done in about a 1/2 hr. The KT in that one has some muscle behind it......We've got 10 inches of heavy, wet snow & it lugged down & kept throwing. I wasn't optimistic but now I'm impressed. Always seemed like Dad had trouble with his 1650/QA42a when I was growing up. Guess the extra jug in the KT helps.
