No idea what you are asking? Is this some sort of auto spell from a phone? "Are these frame the"? Try again. :bigthink:

Yosemite Sam 09-01-2015 07:58 PM

I think he fixed it.

Quiet Line side shields won't fit a 1X8/9.

You may be able to change the grill shell & muffler and get them to work, and air cleaner.

cubcadet 09-01-2015 08:02 PM

The frames should be the same.

cubby102 09-01-2015 08:05 PM

They may take some massaging but I don't think it'd be to hard to make work. As far as I know the only real change in the frame itself is how the engine mounts.

olds45512 09-01-2015 09:06 PM

the side panels wont fit with the starter/generator on the 108.

cub123 09-01-2015 09:25 PM

As was said I think the frames are same. Putting on side panels would also require the proper engine shrouds, firewall, Etc to cool correctly. Probably not worth the trouble.

Yup, I forgot about the S/G, and yes, it probably wouldn't cool well.

108

Father in Law, was going to put a 14hp with ring gear starter on it, was wanting side shields on it.

Hi Donny, i do know the clutch release levers are different. Got one from Z Kerber and it was a little long. Had to move the clutch hanger up. Difference between a frame mount motor (108) and frame rail mount.(QL) Mike:beer2:

Donny Curtis 09-02-2015 08:27 AM

Well all Zach's clutch arms are longer to help with releasing the heavier spring, if Father in law goes with the 108 , he will just change spring is all

sawdustdad 09-02-2015 11:11 AM

With a ring gear starter engine in a 108 with a QL muffler and air cleaner, a swap of the front grill assy and the hood and latch, you could make it work. check oil pan to be sure it will clear the frame. Need to look and see if the holes in the steering console sides are there for the thumb screws that hold the side panels on.
I don't think the air baffle at the back of the engine compartment is necessary.

Donny Curtis 09-02-2015 11:33 AM

It will be in a puller so all that will not matter, was trying to find out if the side shields would fit. Was told I wold have to change the bottom nose piece of the grill, thanks

The air baffle let's it draw cool air from the back of the tractor rather than recirculating heated air in the engine compartment. I'll admit I've never run one without the baffle, so I can't say if it makes a big difference or not, but the idea seems reasonable.

Donny Curtis 09-02-2015 11:38 AM

This puller will have the stroud on it, so stock flywheel will circulator air

Donny Curtis 09-02-2015 11:40 AM

When we use steel flywheel with no fins, we use small fan to cool off after pull

As cub123 the baffle keeps the engine from overheating by forcing it to draw cold air from outside the engine compartment, if your building a puller that's not going to be running for long periods of time its probably not a big deal but if you plan to mow with it you need the baffle.

Hey Donny, i know the arms are longer on the bottom. I'm talking the distance from the center of the driveshaft up to the hole for the pin in the clutch hanger. Mike
