982 Is Home

Jenn and I got the 982 home today. Going to take it to my buddy's tomorrow, the hydro needs some work. I'm loving this tractor!

That is an awesome looking tractor, I love the red ones. Too bad it doesn't have power steering.

jaynjeep 08-01-2015 10:44 PM

Thanks and I agree! :beerchug:

bocephus1991 08-02-2015 01:37 AM

Sweet John! That paints all original isn't it? Looks dang good!

jimbob200521 08-02-2015 02:07 AM

Bout time for some V61's, eh? :biggrin2:

Great looking machine! :beerchug:

Sam Mac 08-02-2015 08:33 AM

Looks good AC. What's wrong with the hydro?

cubs-n-bxrs 08-02-2015 08:47 AM

Nice machine Allen.

ACecil 08-02-2015 12:47 PM

Thanks guys!

Ryan, it's getting the 1872's V61's and rear ag tires. :beerchug:

Sam, the trunnion needs rebuilt, along with some linkage adjustments. The hydro lever doesn't go all the way forward. I already got all the parts. It's going to be a great tractor.

Thanks Brian! The paint is original. It's a little faded. We're going to give it a good waxing, and see if the red comes out again.

IHinIN 08-02-2015 02:08 PM

Nice 982 Allen. Hit it with some rubbing compound first. It will help clean up any oxidation and fine scratches before you wax it.

ACecil 08-02-2015 02:15 PM

Thanks Adam! I appreciate the tip also! :beerchug:

Diz Jr. 08-02-2015 11:04 PM

Congratulations ACecil :beerchug:
The 982 just about fills up the trailer

ACecil 08-03-2015 12:15 AM

My friend had a red mustang that was faded to the point where it was pink, he used red wax on it and it looked brand new.

ACecil 08-03-2015 12:19 PM

Thanks, I'll definitely give it a try! :beerchug:

IliketheRedcubs 08-03-2015 04:02 PM

Nice looking 982 Allen! Gotta love the red ones!!:beerchug:

drglinski 08-03-2015 05:36 PM

Did you keep your red weights?

red56turbo 08-03-2015 06:09 PM

Allen,
Congrats! Glad to see you got her home. Bet it looks great next to the 782. :beerchug:

ACecil 08-03-2015 11:22 PM

Thanks guys!

Daniel, I kept the weights. They are going on the 982.

lowes48 08-04-2015 01:11 PM

Is that the same 982 that was listed on CL a week or so ago? good stuff! Oh yeah, I'm jealous...

On a related red tractor note the local Cub dealer in Wilkesboro had a 782 behind the fence the other day that was in great shape, still had the hub caps and everything! I asked about it and was told it was being repaired and NOT FOR SALE!

ACecil 08-04-2015 11:07 PM

Thanks! The 982 wasn't listed. I lucked into it. :beerchug:

ACecil 08-14-2015 11:34 PM

The hydro is fixed on the 982. I'm pretty excited! Will get all the tires switched, and get the 1872 sold. :beerchug:

darkminion_17 08-15-2015 12:03 AM
