Cyclops lift control valves

my brother has a 1863 we are going to make into a 1864 by adding power steering. we would also like to have 2 hydraulic valves for angle blade and such. am i correct that the valves are stackable? has anyone made lines with those kinds of fittings successfully? or what models came with the double valve setup if any that i might be able to look for lines from oem if any are available?thanks guys

The double valves were optional on all hydro-lift cyclops. It was a rare option from what I have seen. Sam had the fittings to stack them made. I think a good hydraulic shop could make the lines/fittings.

Here is a thread I have bookmarked from this site as I am going to do the same thing this spring, add a 2nd valve to my 1864. There's some good reading material in there :beerchug:

I added a 2nd valve to my 2084 to run front hydraulics. I bought a used kit from one of the parts vendors, wasn't too expensive and had all fittings and brackets. They stack easily, just have to extend the slot in the dash for the 2nd control handle.

Yep I have the adapters that go between the valves when you stack them.
This is the pricing for the valve adapters
Valve adapters are $7.00 ea
Shipping is $3.00 for 1-3
This is what they look like.

I don't suppose you have any under-dash pics of the install? I'm curious how hoses are routed as well as the valve mounted/attached. :bigthink:

I don't, and am not near the tractor right now, sorry. The valve mounting is very obvious, just attaches to the existing valve and the lever location is directly above the existing dash lever, you just extend the rectangular cutout in the dash. Hose routing is just the easiest path that doesn't come in contact with any moving parts, was very easy. This is for adding front outlets, not sure of the challenges of adding power steering.

Alright, thanks anyway! I was asking because I've read around that the fittings on the valves aren't any kind of normal standard so you either have to tap them to standard pipe thread or figure something else out. I also asked because I will be getting my hands on just a valve so I won't have any mounting hardware. If it requires anything special, I'll have to make it up as I go. :beerchug:

I have all the info in the service manual. Problem is that this manual has not yet been uploaded to the site, waiting on Roland. If you want a copy of it send me a PM with your e-mail address. It's a 12MB PDF

Hello. Attached is a page from an Eaton Power Steering brochure describing the fitting for the power steering valve fittings. I could be wrong, (was one time) but I think this is the same fitting that Cub used on the control valves. I have the entire pdf but it is too large to upload. I could pm if anyone is interested.

No, that is not the same style.

Yep close but MTD AKA Cub figured out how to make a good proven design cheaper. Yes it works but it could have been made better, Oh Yeah that would have cost a couple dollars more per already over priced tractor. :bash2: Rant over, I am now going to pour a Scotch on the rocks. :beerchug:

Guys just a heads up, I only have 5 more of the valve adapters and I have no plans to make more.

Edit: 4 left

Valleyvfdfirefighter 04-27-2018 09:44 AM

Sam,

I know this is an old dead thread but you wouldn't have some of those valve adapter still laying around would you? Or at the least the specs so I can try and get a couple made? I'd like to add 1 or 2 more valves on my 2082.

swacor 04-27-2018 10:41 AM

You can buy them 711-3294, its under a gt3000 series cub.

Sam Mac 04-27-2018 11:29 AM
