Can't beat free!!

Picked this up from a local Cub guy about a month ago and am just now getting around to posting it. It's the frame from a 1440 or 1641...or maybe it was an 1863. Hmm, I don't remember. Guess it doesn't matter :biggrin2: I'll post a pic of the tags so I'm sure someone will figure it out. I got it because, well, free! As an added bonus, it has a spring assist in it so maybe one day I can make use of that. It's also got a good wiring harness, dash, frame is in good shape so I'll be sure to hang on to this. Just figured I'd share :beerchug:

Here's a few more pics of the place I got this from. It's a Cub guy located not too far away from where I live. All I can say is this guy's place is AMAZING. There are literally Cubs stacked on pallet racks, 95% of them pre-wide frame. I believe he reads these forums every now and then but he's a more loyal member of another CC site. Anywho, the more pics the merrier, right? :beerchug:

John B. from Polo? He does have a nice collection. IIRC, he only started collecting cubs a few years ago.

That's the guy, and that's the story :biggrin2: He has another farm/building with yet MORE CC's in it but I didn't get to check that out. He even has a silage silo with Cubs stuffed in it!! :beerchug:

I think he works at an IH dealership. He does have a nice collection. I saw quite a few of his cubs at AJ's Jamboree in Oregon, IL. They have the show in May, something like the third weekend. You'll have to head there this year if you've never been there before, Ryan. Smaller garden tractor show, but nice start to the year, especially after a long winter. On a side note, I'd love to have that sweepster. :biggrin2:

I've heard about the GT Jamboree. I'd love to go this year and as long I remember when it is, I'll be there :biggrin2:

These pics aren't all that old, I believe it was about a month ago I was up there.

captaindemo17 02-22-2015 08:28 PM

Looks like heaven to me! I saw I brinly plow up in the racking on a pallet. A new sleeve hitch on a shelf. Man it would be nice the see that in person!

So where abouts are you located in Iowa if ya don't mind me asking? I'm just North of the Quad Cities. Always good to have fellow cub collectors close around to shoot the breeze...... :beerchug:

captaindemo17 02-22-2015 10:35 PM

Monticello. You?

red56turbo 02-22-2015 11:26 PM

DeWitt. You're not too far away. I know another guy from Monticello that messes around with cubs. Do you know Rick B.?
