hey guys well my cousin told me his boss had some tractors that he wanted to get rid of and needed them gone. I finally got to his house a couple days ago and looked at what he had. Well one was a model 70 cub all complete and has the round fenders, I saw that and I had to have it along with the other tractors :biggrin2:. so here is what I picked up couldn't get much better on the price at $400 for everything on the trailer

olds45512 09-15-2014 09:25 AM

That's a good score, congrats.

johncub7172 09-15-2014 10:51 AM

Nice pick up,.....

Heavens yes! That is a whopper of a deal.

rwairforce 09-15-2014 11:01 AM

Must be something in the CT air for such a deal to be legal!!:beerchug:
Amazing collection of fine pieces for such a crazy low price. I wish we were family.:biggrin2:

darkminion_17 09-15-2014 11:23 AM

I also agree the shifter looks way to long, kinda looks like a wide frame shifter with the end cut off or straightened.

well guys getting started soon on the 70 I picked up some wheel barrow tires to put on the front rims, there rated for 330 pounds each so they should work, ive used them on lawn carts before they seem fine, anyone against these ?

darkminion_17 09-21-2014 09:23 PM

You have the right shifter, just used what they have on the shelf, second gear is slower,as they used a the same gearing as an original up to a certain serial #92325 I believe
My 100 has the faster second, seems too fast to mow with...

The early 70/100s has a 16 tooth 2nd gear. Speed is 2.9 mph.
Your 102 has a 19 tooth 2nd gear. Speed is 3.9 mph.

Note: engine is running 3600 rpm.

Can you post a picture of the shifter?

jeepchicken5000 09-26-2014 11:15 PM

thanks garth I like it better then the stock ones , thinking of making something for the brake pedal it has holes in it like there should be something on it hmm think more cherry or some cedar would work for that decisions :bigthink:

Sam Mac 09-27-2014 10:14 AM

Looks good but I suggest that you add some type of support for that stack. The threads in the block are not designed for that much weight.

johncub7172 09-27-2014 10:23 AM

Keep up the good work!

Yup, that's a break waiting to happen with that muffler set up. Add a support on it, or you'll be sorry.:bigthink:
BTW, Tractor looks good:beerchug:

jeepchicken5000 09-28-2014 07:52 AM

ok guys ill ad a piece of steel from the frame up that should be fine , gonna have to put a 1/4 inch hole in the frame for a bolt but better then breaking the block

jeepchicken5000 09-28-2014 08:20 AM
