Any suggestions on where to buy a seat for my 129?

Hi,

My seat, at this point, is in a pretty deteriorated state. I see several on eBay but they don't quite look the same and say they are not original IH. Any suggestions on where to buy either a good used one or new would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Keith

Put an ad in the wanted section Keith in the trading post. Someone will have a nice 6 pad seat I'm sure, my last one cost a bit but was in perfect shape

I know it isn't original but I put a nice comfy one on my Original from Tractor supply. My 61 is still doing what it does best cutting an acre a week. I lucked out and only needed a new headgasket and a stock coil to put him back on the lawn.

Alvy,

Thanks for that suggestion. I posted an ad.

Guess you could try patton or cub classics or one of our sponsors.
Or just get whatever is comfortable to you at tsc or someplace similar.

I've been putting these on my tractors. Very comfortable. Fit perfectly.

I put one on my 127. It was very nice and good quality. It is a high back seat and I'm a fan of the mid backs of the day.

Keith, I wish some company would start making parts for the Cubs like Hapco does for the Deere equipment. If you're looking for nice stuff ya gotta pay big bucks for it to be correct. I have never seen a seat that is even close to the original one used on the 1x8/1x9 series or the six pad seats. Good luck and let us know if you find one. Does anyone have a source for them?

I put the same thing on some of my cubs from Rural King, but I think I paid $79/each for them.

I was looking as those myself, I agree they look great and the price is pretty reasonable. I need a few so I wonder if I can get a shipping discount?:bigthink:

I bought this seat for my 108. It's much more comfortable than the low back seat that was on it. The seller will take a couple of bucks off with the best offer, not very much.

That looks like the same seat from Northern Tool. A little cheaper, but higher shipping?

I'm a fan of the higher back seats.

I've also purchased the one posted by SDD. Excellent seat, comfortable and as far as not being original, at least they were OEM spec on later model Cubs.

The mid-back seat I went with is actually still available from Cub Cadet, and has a nice vintage look about it. I think it was used on the QLs. Part no. 759-3148

Separate post to avoid confusion. Found this one at "Hoober." Also has a nice vintage look to it, but $165....
