Can anyone help me identify which model this is? I got the number off the rear end but the engine tag is not readable. 2050044U473120.

The price is right enough for me, cheaper then the three point that is on it which will fit another runner I have.

I have been considering a hydro just not willing to spend what people in my area want so even if it doesn't run the parts are worth it to me.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Just for my knowledge how can you tell the difference between a 109 and a 129? I ruled out the 149 do to the lack of hydraulic lift. Figured it was one or the other of the two though.

Shrewcub 07-28-2014 08:41 PM

109 is 10 HP

129 is 12 HP

There may be some other small differences but that the big one. :beerchug:

I didn't know that existed, I had read the first part of the number was just a cast number and had no real significance. Learn something every day around here........

I did not know that either. Thanks for the info.
Speaking of 109's, I'm looking at one that the owner says it has the 149 option of a hydro lift. Is this possible? Or is it a repwered 149? Looks to be correct and has 10 HP engine. I may add this to the others. Its real clean.

Hydraulic lift was an option on a 109.

Thanks for the info. I'll look again at it and may add it to the herd.

And a pretty not-so-common option for a 109. Nowadays, one can just put in a ported hydro and all the hydro lift parts from a 149 donor though............

Still worth looking into though.

Well I brought it home today after much deliberation. In between today and the original post I have been preoccupied with a Farmall Super A that was my grandfathers. I finally talked my dad into giving it to me so I was on the fence about the new Cub but went ahead and pulled the trigger just because I never see them this close to home.

After I quick inspection the PTO bearing is shot, the clutch fell off the shaft when the lever was disengaged, got the springs too. PO did tell me the clutch was gone that's why it got parked. Battery tray is rusted pretty good along with the choke cable. Deck is decent and not frozen. Brakes are stuck. Has a piece of baling wire ran from the governor back to the seat for some unknown reason. The fan is actually still intact, that seems rare from what I have read. Seat is obviously toast. All in all I am happy, hopefully I can get a battery in it tonight and see what happens after some fuel system cleaning. Being my first hydro there will be some questions I am sure.

I would change that hydro oil since it's been outside . Congrats on your cub!
