Looking at a spirit of 76.
Hey guys,
Looked at a spirit of 76 about 2 miles from my house, it was all original, original steering wheel and center cap, even the seat was with some minor tears, he said he has a deck for it that needs minor welding repair, I did check the serial no and it said cadet 76, it needs the starter installed with a new gear(which he would do) then possibly get it running, here's my concern, for the price he wants, the fiberglass hood is broken right at the top where it closes and was repaired with a dark blue piece of plexiglass, I don't know what to do, hoods are very hard to find right. |
We need pics. Fiberglass should be no big deal. Any body shop that works on Corvettes or a boat place can fix it for you or you can do it yourself. I used to buy the resin and glass at a marine supply shop. Think it was called west marine.

The hood on the 111 i just picked up is cracked in a few places also, realistically you probably couldnt find a crack free hood if you wanted to and if you did it would cost more than the tractor. Fiberglass is decent to work with and you should be able to watch a few youtube videos to learn how to do the repairs yourself or find a bodyshop but be aware that having a shop fix it wont be cheap.

Guy said he got it running and just has to dig out the deck.

Picked up the spirit of 76, carb was rebuilt and a new fuel line was installed, it runs good, drained the old gas out, put fresh gas in, and some mmo, it's ready to go, no smoke either.

I've been off for a while, sorry I hadn't seen this earlyer. Welcome to the owner's club! I've got one too. First off, DO NOT DO ANYTHING COSMETICALLY TO THE TRACTOR! They are hard to find in good shape anymore, being the LT's they are many were trashed over the years. What is your serial number, i wonder how close our are to eachother? And, if you have any questions feel free to DM me. Here's mine,
