Yellow fever has struck again!

Well guys, today I was cruising craigslist and came across an ad for a 1650. Made a deal on the phone and this is what I came home with. Runs pretty good. Starts right up. Needs a muffler and a seat. Came with a brand new craftsman seat that I will probably put on since it IS brand new.

Brand new deestone 23X10.50 AGs to boot.

50c deck that looks ok but needs some work.

A snow blade and 1A tiller with both extensions. The blade needs to be blasted and painted, but overall the metal is in fairly good shape. The tiller has had a rattle can paint job at some point in its life, but it's in ok shape as well. Tines are definitely still usable. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...psb9f10ffa.jpg

And the coolest part of the lot, imo, is the home made box blade. Very heavy duty. Has a cutting edge on the front and rear like the big boy box blades. Even has the bar with cut outs for rippers. (which were not included)

I don't think I did too bad at $350 for the lot. I got both belts for the tiller, and the belt for the mowing deck. I have an extra mule drive with straight pulleys for the tiller, so no worries there.
One thing I did find odd is the hydraulic lever is backwards from both my other 1650 and my 149. Both of those you pull back for up, push forward for down. This one is the opposite..Why would that be?

I think you just got the deal of the YEAR. Awesome find, and one hell of a price to boot! :beerchug:

Nice score on the 1650 and all the attachments!:beerchug:

Great find at a great price. The hydraulic hoses are hooked up backwards. Switch them and the lift will work correctly.

:biggrin2:Lew is gonna be SOOOO jealous!!!!!

Maxwelhse 05-18-2014 10:06 PM

$350 for all of that? WOW! Nice score.. My 1650 was $350 all by itself with MANY problems to fix (including a motor after 1.5 seasons!!)!

That might even be approaching scrap metal value!

Awesome find on the 1650 and implements!

Yes excellent score on everything and what a price, wow. Congrats. Box blade is very well built, too bad you didn't get the rippers too. He didn't have them?

bolivier 05-18-2014 10:53 PM

He didn't have the rippers. He got the tractor from his wife's grandfather. He was doing some spring cleaning and had just purchased a toro walk behind mower. I think he was more into cars than cubs. He had an old Plymouth in the garage he was getting ready to back half.

Great find! You guys make me jealous. I *never* run across these deals you find. Perhaps one day... :beerchug:

Regards,
Chris

You did very well on the price IMO. I like that the box blade can be used without removing the tiller gearbox.

bolivier 05-19-2014 03:00 PM

I kept telling my wife I got a smoking deal. Now the thinks I'm slightly less crazy. But seriously...no way I could pass this deal up. I've really been wanting a nice box blade for a while. Some side shields, a seat, and a little maintenance here and there, I'll have another good workhorse.
