mrmiller 04-21-2014 03:01 PM

Very nice Lew!! I have a single pole key switch but it's not the original one. I got a NOS key switch for my pull start from Patton.

darkminion_17 04-21-2014 04:44 PM

Thanks guys,
Martin, the wires are still in the dash, one is from the mag the other is attached to the dash tower.
Did these come from the factory with the holes for a push button starter?
My 72 is not here to see how it is connected.

Alvy 04-21-2014 04:55 PM

Very nice Lew. Would you explain about the "delivery"? I'm curious, was it local?

darkminion_17 04-21-2014 05:14 PM

Free delivery as the owner was coming from his summer home in PA to nj and was passin' by any way...so he brought it with him.I gave him some 184 low-boy literature for his time.He has a few...

mrmiller 04-21-2014 05:26 PM

Lew, the dash tower on the 3 digit I had did not have a hole for the push button starter nor for the choke. I don't know if this was an "early" thing or what

J-Mech 04-21-2014 05:32 PM

Nice score Lew! 4 digit and pull start! Hope it starts quick, or you'll get tired. :biggrin2:

darkminion_17 04-21-2014 06:54 PM

cleaned up around the serial #,turns out to be a 5 digit ,I can make it a 4 digit.heheheh...still a keeper.

Martin.
The extra holes in the dash look like no push button switch or choke were ever mounted on the dash tower.Must be a ealy thing on yours...

You got a nice gig going when you get people to deliver them to your doorstep. Now if only I can figure out how to do that!:bigthink: Great looking original and worth keeping just as she is! Glad you found it.

A pastor at a church I belonged to told us a story once; "i went to go start my rototiller (he was big into gardening) and I yanked and yanked and couldn't get it to go, then realized the gas was off." it still makes me laugh thinking about it to this day.

zippy1 04-22-2014 08:02 PM
