Electric Implement Lift
4 Attachment(s)
Thought you all would find this little project I did interesting. I was frustrated w/the lack of availability and/or cost of a factory lift. So I build one myself. My goal was to build something that would not involve "hacking" up my machine.
I bought the lift used. It is a 1000LB rated Warner electric unit. I painted it and mounted with a bracket & bolts to the frame. I attached to the lift assembly w/a hitch pin. Constructed a wiring harness from automotive grade wire & a fabric loom. I wanted a joy stick because I may at some point try and build an electric power angle. The stick is 4-way. To use a joy stick, I had to build a relay setup (2) w/2P 2T relays. I had a hard time finding them. Purchased from MSD ignition via JEGS Speed Shop. Mounted a watertight aluminum project box under the seat to house. All is protected with a 30A circuit breaker. All terminations are heat shrunk. I found the leg guard used for $4.50. It works awesome! I plowed for hours. I do have a spring assist on this. However, I'm sure it would work fine with out it. It was a fun project. |
Well done! Looks like it will work well... :biggrin2.gif:
Do you know what the lift was on originally? Like a wheel chair lift or something? |
That's cool! Nice job!
|
I like that, awesome job! :beerchug:

cool thinking. that would possibly work on a wideframe and newer geardrive huh?

Very nice, electricmonster, very nice!

Excellent :IH Trusted Hand: |
Nice job.
Since my 123 is in pieces this would be a nice add-on. What is the stroke on the actuator 4",6"? Can you provide any other details on the part number for the joy-stick? Any info would be appreciated. Like the old saying goes, 'Imitation is the highest form of flattery...' Thanks! |
The original lift had specifications of: 500 lb lift capacity and had a 6" stroke.

Great engineering!! Sounds like it is your forte Electricmonster.
