No clue what model #

Hello, I'm new to this site so if this is in the wrong place I apologize... Alright so I purchased this pulling tractor.. It's supposedly a 1965 but I'm not sure, has the 15hp Kohler but has been completely rebuilt and bored, bigger pistons all that good stuff. It will only run when hooked to a running vehicles battery, I would say it's the alternator but I know this doesn't have one. Any clues? Also I am needing to know the possible model numbers so I can purchase air filters and such, any help would be greatly appreciated!

We'll I'm no expert but I assure you that's not a 1965. Looks like a 126

That tractor is of the 1X6/7 Series of Cubs. I would "assume" it is a Gear Drive tractor, so I am guessing it is a 106 or a 126.

Powerstrokin96 04-20-2014 01:45 PM

I'm assuming it's a 126 since it looks identical to a 127 and is not a hydrostatic

Well anybody know how to solve the issue of it not running when it's not hooked to a running car?

I will also say 126 or 106. I can see a bit of a gear shifter. The black end of the shifter blends in with the seat.

Found the serial number

Looks like the frame is modified out around the flywheel, if so then I would say it is a 147---unless that is a PO mod. I cast my vote for a 147. Looks like a fun cub. Have you put a new battery into it?

#2050039u****** = 126

Seriaal 380815

Looks like March-April 1971 to me: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=7114

Can you post some more pics? Looks to be Frankenstein a little. Its gear drive. Some engine numbers would help too. Frame notch doesn't look OE like 147 would

Could be a number of issues. The starter/Generator, regulator, wiring, or loose connections, or multiple issues. Have you charged the battery? Being it was a pulling tractor it only had to have juice for a few minutes at a time so they could have just jumped it off and used a good hot battery. Charge your battery and then jump it off, it should run as long as the battery last. There is a section that has the diagrams and technical info. Good luck.

Hey Bud, welcome to OCC. Glad to have ya. According to my research, it is a 1971 model 126. Good luck.

Yes dropped new battery fired right up after 2 years of sitting.. Only would run with it completely choked and low RPM couldn't idle it up without it dying... Checking into the carb... But the battery eventually died so I'm gonna say it's a VR problem... Gonna hook the ground back up and see what other problems I run into! Thanks for the help guys! Will keep posted on this thread as I make progress on it
