Even if we did leave the dance early this year! If some (most) of ya'll don't understand its OK, its a "Tobacco Road" thing.:biggrin2:

DoubleO7 03-30-2014 09:21 PM

That series style always makes me think of the Mack Truck Bulldog hood ornament.

darkminion_17 03-30-2014 09:24 PM

Looking good there Allen.
Glad you got it back and running great.

That's right! :beerchug:

Shaner 03-30-2014 10:36 PM

You removed the power steering? Why? Thought that was the "perks" of having a super!:bigthink:

ACecil 03-30-2014 10:52 PM

I decided to get rid of it. It drives nicely without the power steering. No more leaks, and I'm happy with it.

MrsACecil 03-30-2014 10:55 PM

Yep...I am very glad that my super is home again. Now it's time to get to work in the yard. I am ready! :biggrin2:

Now that is the look of a HAPPY Man!:beerchug:

Just one question, why didn't rebuild the power steering?:bigthink:

Leadslingingdaddy 03-31-2014 09:06 AM

Also, where are the front hydraulic couplers???

ACecil 03-31-2014 10:10 AM

Sam, I decided that I'd rather have the manual steering. I'm happier with it that way.

Randy, they are gone. I only have single hydraulics now. I never needed them anyway, I don't have a Haban blade. I'm happy with the way the 1872 is set up now.

uhuh.....

You just wanna get like this...

Shaner 03-31-2014 01:27 PM

soooo....paint it red, slap some 982 decals on it and call it a day! you already got the cast iron rear in it....be a nice look for it next to the 782!

ACecil 03-31-2014 02:08 PM

Randy, it actually steers very well. Wouldn't hurt to get some more muscle though! :biggrin2:

That's true, Shaner!

red56turbo 04-01-2014 10:01 AM

Glad you got the ole girl back Allen. Did ya keep the power steering and front hydraulic parts? Hope so. You might wanna convert it back someday and buying that stuff piece by piece can get pricey.

ACecil 04-01-2014 10:59 AM

Thanks Josh! I traded them for the complete 982 steering set up. I'm enjoying the 1872 as it is. :beerchug:

esarvey 04-01-2014 11:41 AM

Arm power steering !

:bigthink: I like your fix , now U go to the gym work on the Bi-cepts , :biggrin2:

john hall 04-01-2014 12:21 PM

I actually thought my 982 steered pretty good as well. However, With the engine out, I decided to try my hand upgrading to a thrust bearing. It's a different steering setup so some machining and a different bearing were required. I posted a thread on it if you ever want to look into it.

So, what's this one going to be used for, mowing, trailer towing, intimidating your neighbors green machines?

J-Mech 04-01-2014 12:50 PM

Glad the super is back Allen! :beerchug:

ACecil 04-01-2014 02:10 PM

John, it will be lawn sweeping, pulling my cart and trailer, and plowing.
