129 Ported Hydro??

Good friend of mine has been watching me work on my cubs. Getting the 125 going, adding the cab and other work I've done over the last year or so. Anyway, he has a 129 that the motor is down on and I think that he may have contracted "Yellow Fever". He is getting it dug out of the corner and asked me to help him find some attachments for it. He is kind of wanting to put hydraulic lift on it.

So, here's the question:
Did all the 129's come out with a ported pump? I haven't went to look at the tractor yet, and thought someone might know. Checked the parts book, it only lists one hydrostat for it, so I'm assuming they all were. Can anyone confirm? :bigthink:

The 129 I have in my shed right now does not have a ported pump if that helps you any

It was an option that was available on the 129, but it was not standard on it. That is what I was told on this forum about 2 years ago. I put a ported 149 rear end in a 129 and set it up with hydraulic lift, then sold it.

the ported pump was an option on the 129.

Yep Jonathon,
You'll have to find a ported pump. The 129's came from the factory without a ported hydro. Only the 149 and 169 came with a ported hydro. Sounds like a neat project. You'll have to keep us posted. :beerchug:

Well.... told him to pull the tunnel and send me pics. Or I'll just go look at it. Maybe we'll get lucky. Bid on a hydraulic set-up on E-pay..... but apparently someone want's it worse. I wasn't bidding any higher. I'm not going to be one of the fools we talk about in the other threads paying ridiculous prices. Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted. He wants a tiller. Found a nice one on CL, if it's still for sale. You know those C-list ads can be..... still posted, but item sold weeks ago. :beerchug:

I had a question along those lines. I have a 1250 with what I believe to be an IH lift. The tractor is hydro but the lift is manual. I would like to take the lift out of the 1250 and put it in a 129 with hydro lift. From what I see the holes/brackets/lift lever... look the same. anyone know if that will that bolt right in? The spring/adjuster is frozen and it looks like that needs to come off or back off first to avoid bad things. I hope to use this with a 3 pt to move trailers
Thanks

I may be wrong...probably am, but didn't Matt G change one over a few years ago. I was thinking he had to change some springs or something like that. I will see if I can find the post.

I was wrong, here is a link that may help.

I found a post where Matt G lists the differences between a 129 and 1250 and states there is a difference in the lift parts - I believe he was talking about the stuff linking to the back. Can't seem to find that post to link it

Jonathan,

You could look for a WF electric lift (that may be like looking for hens teeth, as I have only seen a few of them and somewhat pricey) or you could engineer one up for him with an aftermarket electric lift or a winch on a winch bracket mounted on back could also be used for the tiller until something more suitable was found. Just some ideas...maybe some economical ported pump will come up.

theoretically, how difficult would it be to take an un-ported pump and convert it to be ported?

They aren't that hard to find http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cub-Cadet-Wi...item1c3ba9ae31 As you say, they ARE somewhat pricey.

Other than the ported pump here are the other parts that you would need. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cub-cadet-hy...item417bef204d

Jonathan,

It may be easiest to find just the ported hydrostat pump if the 129 isn't equipped with it. Then that way you could do the gasket change also while you are at it. Just a thought :beerchug:

Thanks for the help guys! Still haven't went and looked at the machine, but the current plan is just to buy all the hydraulic stuff, including a ported pump. Already found all of it and have a price. Just need my buddy to confirm that he's good with it, and place the order! :beerchug:

J-Mech 01-28-2014 03:30 PM

Well, just ordered a ported pump and all the parts to make it hydraulic lift, and a sleeve hitch. Also, found a tiller on C-List and he is going to get it bought. Still has to put the engine together, but it's progressing. If I end up helping him, I'll post pics! :beerchug:

Be sure you get the right kit, because of the PTO saftey switch .The routing of the lines and the mounting of the valve will be different.

ported ?

I have a 129. found a blown 149 for $20.00. Took the hydro lift parts off the 149 and put on the 129. the 129 had plugs where the hydro lines were on the 149. everything bolted right up. Works like a dream!
