The "Tribble" with Tractors-Storage Solutions?
 

I don't know how you guys manage to store so many tractors. You leave them alone for a few months and come back and there are a couple more. Based on my experience, they have a gestation period of about 90 days. I've already had to relocate 3 tractors to the other house. Do you start giving your other possessions away to make room for more Cubs? I think I can get rid of that radial arm saw over there...I feel like I'm a candidate for "Hoarders, Buried Alive." Any advice? Put in a mezzanine?

You need to go up a level.

Yup, a lot of empty space between the hood of the cub and the ceiling. I have the same issues with bicycles.

Build a bigger 7-level garage.

Dunno, but I'd have an impossible time parting with any one of those machines I see.

I only have 3 and am planning an extension on my tool shed because for some reason CL keeps popping up on my computer and it's always on farm & garden. I have to climb over as it is to get in the darn door.

I envision a storage for cubs involving a level of pallet racking with some sort of hoist like a tommy gate on a truck (this is after I win the lottery of course) to store all small toys/machines like a library!

I know where your coming from. My cub barn is tire to tire with tractors.
That's why I have only two at a time in the shop or I ain't getting around them.

Those are all some good looking cubs. I say put the Ford outside.

I only see 3 1/2 that I'd keep in there, just my preference.. :HeeHee:

When planning a garage, after you decide how big it needs to be, double the size and it should be almost large enough.:biggrin2:

Your sig says you have a loader on that Kubota..............
So get ya some pallet racks (CL business section) and a set of bucket forks.
Put Cubs on built-to-Cub pallets.
Convert garage door to sliding door and you gain even more rack room inside.

I found it does not work that way for me...........
I see something and in my head I say "I got room for that" and thus the space gets filled up anyways.

A few years ago I bought an 8'x24' truck box body. It holds 6 cubs and attachments with room to spare. It kinda sucks though if you want the tractor that's up in the front but, it's good, cheap, storage.

Not a bad idea, except the Kubota is a BX23, so it's not a whole lot larger than the cubs. I won't lift a cub--I think the bucket max is 500 lbs. Here's the rest of the cubs, except for the 1650 which is out in the "garden" shed on grass duty standby.

That would make 3 on this property. It's crazy-the county limits "garages" to 1000 sq. feet total. I had to submit plans for a "stable" to get a permit to build the last garage. Stalls and a tack room have since been dismantled. :biggrin2:

Going a little off topic, how do you like those chain tighteners on your tire chains? They worth while spending the money on them? Just curious.

I agree, built UP! Then again, bigger foot print is good to, build the bar upstairs so you can look down on your cubs while on your "union break"

I took the chain tighteners off. I bought them but took them off after these pictures were taken. If the chains are installed correctly, you don't really need them. I leave the chains on all year, so I removed the tires, deflated them slightly, installed the chains snugly, cutting off extra links, and then reinflated the tires. If you do this, the chains are snug and you don't need the spring tighteners. If I were putting the chains on seasonally, I'd keep the tighteners as it simplifies installation of the chains.
