New Shoes for the Front of My 149

I put some narrow ags on my 149 today. Amazed at how easy the steering is with a QA42A thrower on the front and no weights on the back! Got upset at the tire guy who had his grandson install the tires and then after installation slid them across the concrete shop floor and scratched up my newly painted rims...

Thanks fellas for all of your kind comments. Had a rough day today, so they were certainly great to read!! As far as lack of respect for someone else's property/work......well, I always try to find the positive in every situation, but darned if I can find anything positive about why he did that.......guess it's time for the serenity prayer.:biggrin2:

I have a mini tire changer coming tomorrow to make tire changing easier.

This one:

I like the ags on the front, too! Nice job!

I have that tire changer. It works pretty well. After wrestling with tire irons and scraping up the rims and pinching a couple tubes, I went all out and spent I think $25. One of the best tool investments I've made, considering the low cost and aggravation saved. You do need a very sturdy bench (i.e., heavy) to hold it. My bench weighs over 400 lbs and I sometimes move it slightly in the process of mounting or removing a tire.

So you find steering to not be a problem? They look really cool :)

I have 2 pair of narrow tri-ribs and 2 pair of narrow ags for my fronts (but one pair of my narrow ags have never been mounted on a tractor yet--(waiting to mount them to my 782) and I think the narrow ags are almost as easy to steer as my tri-ribs. When I first mounted my tri-ribs on my 129 and took it for a test run, I had to look around at my steering rods because I thought that I had a broken rod since I could not feel any resistance in my steering. As I mentioned, I have a a QA42A snow thrower on the front and it steers as though nothing is on the front of the tractor!! Perhaps if I removed the snow thrower, it would steer as easy as the tri-ribs.

They do leave a neat footprint in the mud!:biggrin2:
