What machine is this?

It's about an hour away but I am tempted to go look if it's still available. Can anyone guess at what this is?

That's a Power King tractor. Not sure of the model.

RicochetFord 11-14-2013 02:31 PM

Thanks, never heard of that one. Any opinions on them?

cubcadet 11-14-2013 02:46 PM

thats a steal, i have 2 older ones from the 50s. IMHO, they are very powerful, all gear drive

RicochetFord 11-14-2013 02:53 PM

Any idea which model or year this one is?

I was thinking a Economy King. My neighbor restores them and has 3 I think. That had a real sweet automotive clutch system complete with bell housing, I think. Gosh, for this price I would be already coming back with it! Hurry!

Yeah, at 400 clams it would have already been on the trailer.

Get it!

That's a Power King, Economy or I think a Jim Dandy tractor and an awesome deal! I had a PK and their model numbers are simple. The first 2 digits are the rear wheel size and the other 2 are the motor HP.

Here is a pic of my 2414. The wheels were the same size as a Farmall Cub on this one. Cool tractor with cat 0 hitch that was hydaulic & turning brakes. Go get it if it's not gone!

Cubcrazy 11-14-2013 06:13 PM

That is a great deal! I hope you get it!

RicochetFord 11-14-2013 07:29 PM

Left a voice mail, anxiously waiting for a return call!

My grandfather bought a power king in the early eighties with the hydraulics and dual transmissions, a 1614. when he died my father got it. he would wash and wax it after every time we mowed the lawn with it. it still shines like new, and I think the tires still have some of their nubs on them. it's a very pampered machine. I'll see if I can dig up some pics. My next door neighbor has a thing for power kings like we do for cubs, he's got a collection of 3 or 4. he travels around new england picking them up.

Unfortunately it was already sold. I did however stumble across a VERY good deal on a 106 and 128 package. Non runners but the 128 looks complete. The 106 has a deck can't tell how big from the pictures, it's pretty much there minus a seat and a starter/generator from what I can tell. I think I could make my money back in parts if nothing else but I am also tempted to have a NF to add to the fleet. It is only about 45 minutes away and seems to good to pass up. I am bummed about the Power King but now that I know about them I will be on the look out for another one.

Cubcrazy 11-15-2013 08:44 PM

Sorry to hear it was gone.
There will be others!

Well, sorry for your loss on the sale of this tractor. I knew it would be gone! Better luck next time.
