My new ride..
Just got home from picking up this lil Cub Tank M48. Just needs some cleaning up and it's ready to go.
Looks like I might get two uses out of it, before the season ends. Yeah I know the picture is bad, but is total dark out right now, LOL. http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...psa530bb77.jpg |
They cut grass fast but they don't pull a plow worth a crap :ROTF2:

Congrats on the tank Dwayne!:beerchug:

Looks good but how do you drink a cold beverage when operating one of those? Maybe you will need one of these.:beerchug:

Nice find on the Tank, DWayne!

Looks Good! One of these days I might have to step up to a Zero turn.

Unless you have a golf coarse for a yard, you may want to get a seat kit for it.Trust me they are great and will keep you from spending a small fortune at the chiropractor!!!!!!!!!!

I'm waiting for the pic of DWayne sitting on it with one of these and a cocktail in the Bev holder. :beerchug:

At the moment I am getting a 25hp engine I picked up today, prepped to put into the Tank. Then I plan on honing the cylinders in the original 18hp motor if they are in spec and putting in a new set of rings. The PO has already installed two new heads, valves, lifters, cam shaft and oil pump. But did he hone the cylinders and put in new rings? NO! But on the plus side, this is why I got the Tank cheap. :beerchug: I am really liking these command engines. Easy to work on. |

On a side note, I got the repower finished today. All in all it was not that bad of a project. The new motor came from a Craftsman GT. I had to change the wire harness and the choke and throttle controls from the 18hp motor over to the new motor. re-adjusted the ignition modules and cleaned up all the electrical contacts. Got it all bolted in and ready and turned the key. It spun over great and actually fired for just a second, then nothing. The motor would crank but not start. I pulled the plugs and no sign of gas. I remember some of you on here talking about the electrical valve not working or sticking and not allowing gas to flow. I pulled the valve off of the carb and cut the tip off. Replaced it, turned the key and it fired right up. Got the low and high idles set correctly and played with it mulching up leaves for about an hour this evening. Quite happy with my toy. :beerchug: |

Good to hear Dwayne!:beer2: |
Looks great and they are named correctly....they are tanks!!! I have a 2008 model 48 zero turn (Commercial Series) and had to replace a belt for the first time this year. If you mow too fast over rough ground (ie. your yard), the deck can bounce and the belt can slip off of the pulley and slice the belt. Looks like you're really going to enjoy that tank!!! Glad it is up and running for you already so you can play in the leaves DWayne.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I'll keep my eye on the deck bouncing. :beerchug:

Just my 2 cents.
With the tip cut off of the Fuel valve, will you add a Petcock in the gas line to assure no gas washes down the cylinder walls and into the Crank case?
That scenario is happening more and more as the ethanol gas dries out the rubber tip on the Needle vale or the 'O' ring in the Seat, depending on the carburetor configuration. As I am the neighborhood 'fix-it' guy I have seen this too many times in the last 7 years. It's the ethanol gas. |
There is already a valve on each tank. :beerchug:
