I'd help you make more space... like taking a 149 or 169 off your hands! Lots of space in my garage for one of them!
You need a set up like this; Attachment 43427 Attachment 43428 :drool2::drool2::drool2::drool2::drool2: :High5: |

I have been experimenting with some shelving units so I might double stack um! The one garage has a second floor even and it is full of parts and anything else I can get up the stairs!:biggrin2: |

Ive still been trying to get all these in ONE shop for the last 6 or 7 years!
I finally built a lean to for cold storage, and will soon be adding onto it to store more tractors and my parts inventory... My current garage has about a third of them in it, another third in the lean to, and the rest down at my parent's place. Trying to get them moved soon... Long story short, I feel your pain:biggrin2: |

I like the idea of a second level where you just drive them up a ramp.Just like Mt heritage's cubatorium.

I think you have the coolest Cub Mahal I've ever seen. How about some more pics when you get a chance. Think I see a red Mack in one of those pics, Cub hauler? :beerchug: Sam |
I unfortunately can not take credit for this haven, it is someone I know who owns it. I guess its more of a shrine to be honest. When I walked into it, I seriously stopped dead in my tracks and my jaw dropped!
This has to be at least a 50x50 shop, heated, so clean you could just about eat off the floor and not a speck of dust to be found. Yes, the Mack is a cub hauler. This guy is a collector who deserves the respect people only dream of gaining in life. The nicest guy you would ever want to meet. Laid back, friendly, knowledgable to no end, and so happy in life. He worked hard when he was younger and well, I think he deserves what he has now. Like many of us, been through hard times and came out of them ok. He has darn near every model built by Cub up until mid 80's, then he just has a few special ones picked here and there. Has a couple neat JD, Bolens, & Ford tractors too in the collection just because of their condition and really neat accessories. I spent close to 2 hours with him one day this past Spring and I REALLY didn't want to leave. I had a blast! He had a story behind every tractor, where it came from and most of them he remembers what he had to do to fix them. His work area is set up with just a 10 or 12 foot work bench along the wall, tool box on wheels and then a scissor lift table for the tractor. Lighting is great, hardly would ever need a work light, plus has the natural light coming in as well. Has the grills of every series of tractors from the start until the 82 series on the wall. Pictures GALORE!! I bet you could go back every day of the week and find something new that you didn't see the last time you were there because there is SO much to take in! If I ever get more pictures of it, will post them. Until then, you can be like me and :drool2: :drool2: :drool2: :drool2: :drool2: :drool2: :drool2:  |
Thanks for the nice story Mike!
I would love to visit this guy someday!:beerchug: |

I too have had the pleasure of seeing this collection and it is everything Mike said it is. I have been there several times and the last time I was in he had more than a couple tractors disassembled and in various stages of restoration. Truly amazing!
Mike, where in Ontario are located?:bigthink: |
it would be cool to see this one day too:beerchug:
|
Next time one of you guys is at his place try to get some more pics. :beerchug:
|
Where does this guy live?:bigthink:
|
That's beautiful. He must get them done and put them up on the mezzanine with a forklift?? He should have a tour, I would be game to listen to the stories and look at all of them. He would have a hard time getting rid of some of us for sure. I'm assuming he's in Canada too?
And Sam Mac nice digs you have as well. |
That is one sweet collection ! & one big mess ! I would love to help clean them up a little , lol ! I also like the parking garage idea with a first floor shop , then just drive up to next level parking , but the fumes will have to be vented , now what do you want 2,3 levels with ramps ?
|
Nice to see so many people drooling over this man's collection! Glad Jackblack & me aren't the only ones! He is in Eastern Ontario, its his own collection, and well things are immaculate there. You could almost eat off the floor in this place! He uses a fork lift to get them up on the upper level, no ramps, its two flights of stairs to get up there. Fumes? Nope, this place is top notch, the old chrome table and chairs at the corner upstairs could be used to eat 3 meals a day off of. :bigthink: Imagine eating breakfast, lunch, and supper while looking over your Cub collection! That'd be cool.
I am about 40 minutes from him Jackblack. Your lucky you've been there more than once. I lucked out and this was my birthday present from my wife to go see his collection. Had a blast that day. Ahhh.... we can all only dream to have a place like this one day! |
The more I see what people are doing the more I get inspired.. It truly is a strange treasure if you will with the cubs.. I would have never thought I would be into them quite like this.. From under the trees, the rows of cubs, to the sheds, to the amazing structures.. We all find something so intriguing with these machine's. It is a wonderful thing. From all over. It seriously crazy how different every one is, but yet how big the passion is.. I wonder if the JD's and Case and such guys are like this???:bigthink: Any how, awesome pics..

One of my racing friends sent me a nice home design. I think it would also work well for a Cub collector. :beerchug:
|
Looks like it just needs organized and the space managed better. I also agree about the shelving/pallet racking material. Works wonders.
