Remember the dual hydro levers 1450, one of my first QL?

This one:

The one I have been working on for a couple months.:

Well, today the butterfly has come out of it's cocoon. :

I still have to make up a control stick for the dual setup but I have something for the time being.

It's nowhere close as good as some here do to their babies but it's start for a backyard grease monkey.

I am most pleased with one problem and turnout. The battery must have frozen and broke because all the tinware around it was gone or on its way. I am really pleased with my making new metal and replacing it. You cannot tell now that there was any damage..

OldAndInTheWay 10-30-2013 04:53 PM

Thanks!

Doing this one gives me an idea what I'm looking at with my next QL. But I have my Original and a couple of NFs that I think I will do next.

johncub7172 10-30-2013 05:10 PM

Wow! Does that 1450 look great, and to he1* with John Deere,.. I don't care what anybody says, the Quiet Line Series are the best looking, best in styling, just a sharp all round tractor!

bkw3614 10-31-2013 10:54 PM

Very nice job!

I really like Quietlines, and you have a great one, there. why the ags on the front?

OldAndInTheWay 11-01-2013 07:13 AM

I had them already and they had to go somewhere. I have it's power angle blade installed and I guess they might make a difference in snow. I will find out.

I really like tri-ribbed but will be using them on my older Cubs.

OldAndInTheWay 11-01-2013 04:12 PM

Looks good with it's power angle blade.

Man! That tractor and blade both look like they just rolled out of the dealer's showroom! That Original and deck look like a nice solid base for your next project. Would appreciate you keeping us updated through the process. Great job!

OldAndInTheWay 11-01-2013 04:45 PM

I was surprise how quick and solid the blade moves from side to side. Very precise.

zippy1 11-01-2013 06:55 PM

1450 dual stick and push blade turned out great:beerchug:

That is an awesome restore on the QL. :IH Trusted Hand:

Alvy 11-02-2013 03:06 PM

Absolutely, it looks brand new. By the way what happened to the weights that were on in the original picture? Did you put them on another one?

OldAndInTheWay 11-02-2013 03:57 PM

I have them with a couple pairs of more modern weights. I might put them back on this one or one I'm gonna set up with my plows and disks and use it on that one. Deciding which one to do it to will be a choice taken at the time. I have 3 point hitches on 5 or 6 Cubs.

I just put this one and a 124 with my other cubs. Looks like a party going on there. Still have 4 here at my house. I think I have enough QLs now. But who knows, others might pop up that I will have to take a look at. Might be such a deal I can't refuse. I still get the question: "What you gonna do with them?" I have no answer for them. Like Jeeps, "It's a Cub thing, you will not understand!"

EricR 11-03-2013 11:47 AM

WAY cool. Nice job. And your right most people don't understand us Cub guys.

Very nice job on the QL 1450! Now I need to get to work with the 1450 of my own.
