I looked far and wide...
I need the length and location of the holes on a NF clutch driveshaft,non creeper.

TIA

I can at least get you the lengths.

I use a bad one for a pattern and drill our own

I wish that list went onto the 1000s

Those are 19.16 in. length

Duh! :bash2: I just remembered I have a 73 driveshaft in the shop. Will get some pics and measurements.

Maybe I need to pick up some more material :beerchug:

If this were only a little earlier Lew I had the 73 shaft all apart. Are you making one?

I am having some made up for me by a friend who is a machinist, he is also truing up a bunch of pressure plates and pto plates.
Gratis is good!

Starting at the transmission end and measuring to center of each hole towards the engine:

1/4" from end

4 31/32" Creeper Hole

8 13/16" Spring Spiral pin hole

15 7/8" Teaser spring hole

17 1/8" End plate

First off, understand that I am not disagreeing with or beating up on anyone.

I make my Narrow Frame shafts, 18.1875" (.1875 = 3/16").

From the front,

First hole is, 1.125" (front plate)

Second hole, 2.255 (rear plate)

Third hole 9.250" (tension spring)

Forth Hole, 13.250" (rear coupling creeper)

Fifth Hole 17.9375" (rear coupling no creeper)

I have literally made hundreds of these and have never had a complaint yet.

Wide Frame models (86, 208, 128):

Shaft length, 19.875" (non creeper) 14.5" (creeper)

From the front,

First hole is, 1.125" (front plate)

Second hole, 2.255" (rear plate)

Third hole 9.250" (tension spring)

Forth Hole, 14.250" (rear coupling creeper)

Fifth Hole 18.9375" (rear coupling no creeper)


Now if someone would be so kind as to post the measurements of the Quiet Line shaft length and hole locations I would appreciate it very much.

Sam I can get all the holes down to the creeper tomorrow for ya

I don't know... I've been making them 19.875" for a long time.

Anyone have the hole locations for the NF & WF hydro driveshafts?

Do you know how long they are?
I can check in the morning for the location of the said Hole..

It looks like the NF driveshaft length is 17.52 inches , the WF is 18.52 & the QL is 18.86
( Did I assign the correct model number numbers to the QL ? )

I wore my full face motorcycle helmet clearing snow with the 125 I got from you with my QA-42 and stayed nice and toasty for the 2 hours I was working outside. No heat loss made the below zero windchill extremely tolerable. ( you lose most of your heat thru your head compared to other extremities )

This what I have Lew. From my 72.

These are the dimensions I used for a creeper shaft. I directly got these dimensions from the shaft in my 122. Works great so far!

Yosemite Sam's dimensions look good to johncub7172's measuring tape.

I bet if you were +/- .05 (almost 1/16) it would function fine. The hole on the coupling end is probably the most critical that it doesn't interfere with the input shaft.

Man that 123 coupler is SLOTTED!

And shouldn't the pin be a solid stainless?

They are a solid hardened steel pin.

After reading this thread again, I realized that I claimed that the overall length of the Wide Frame non creeper shaft was, 19.875".

The correct length is in fact 19.1875, apparently I omitted the "1".
