My first 73
7 Attachment(s)
Cubcrazy's little buddy Nick gave me the heads up on this one.:beerchug:
I picked this up yesterday as a craigslist find.Need to get it running as there is a Tecumseh carb on it now, first thing to do was give it a bath. It came with a 38" mower deck, creeper, and a crack free pan seat.Never owned one but it looks like a keeper. No Wess Pullman bolts on this one. #309742 |
nice score
have you found every cub in a 50 miles radius yet? |
Congrats on the 73, Lew!
|
Nice looking 73 Lew! Creeper even!:beerchug:

Good job Lew! Thanks for the pictures!:biggrin2:

Yet another great score, Lew! This one a "keeper"? Or a "flipper"? :bigthink:
|
Great score Lew:beerchug:

Nice 73 Lew. :beerchug:
|
Me likey the 73.
|
Lew,
The 73 is nice. Looks great! Regards, Chris |
Man that is a nice 73 Lew. Interesting that with all the cubs youve got that's the first 73? Very cool, and super clean plus the creeper. Wish mine was that nice when I got it. I think I got mine for a "Lew price" but then again, maybe not. It's sweet though, wish I had the "transfer case" option :biggrin2:

still looking for a 169 and 982 to finish the IH built garden tractors Didn't have much time to work on the 73 today, too busy rearranging the cubs for winter duty. |
Nice find on the 73 Lew. I agree that it is a keeper. Congrats.
|
Thanks ya'll
Changed out the carb, turns out to be a Walbro carb he put on.Put a new rebuilt Kohler on it and runs like, like a,how can I describe the sensation... like eating a Klondike bar,MMMMM I dug into the transfer case issue today.I noticed it was missing the brake rod going to the rear, crazy P.O.mod. It seems there is a sheared spiral pin in front of the creeper. So I will remove the clutch and refurbish it with new parts and be done with it. It is a Keeper |
Sounds like a plan Lew! Glad it is a keeper!
|
congrats lew, glad also its a keeper:beerchug:

Okay ,
Sheared pin removed, and did a little cleaning around the creeper.I have it all back together and it runs fine now, creeper creeps and that is all I am gonna say about that... |
Good to see the pin sheared without doing any other damage :beerchug:
The 73 looks nice |
Easy peasy Lew, nice job. Was its sold to you as "won't move"?
|
Yes it was Alvy.I also put on a set of trued up pressure plates and a new clutch disc on it and popped some wheelies
. |
Good job, Lew!
|
We need pictures of the Lew, with tires in the air:beer2:
Nice addition Lew. I thought for once I could of helped you out on the drive shaft, but DX beat me to it.:bigthink: |
