Picked up a 680 with deck and plow
Hey guys I picked up a cub cadet 680 from a kid on Craigslist, it runs and drive ok, the plow works needs a cutting edge but it came with wheel weights, tire chains, mule drive and a 44 inch mower deck, now I've never seen such a poor shape mower deck like never this bad but after cleaning it up and greasing the bearing I threw it on my 682 and it works pretty good it really needs attention but bearings sound fine. The tractor itself isn't to bad a shape everything looks original hasn't been hacked up to much only thing I see is the headlight wire to the fuse is funky but that's it. I paid 400 for all of it I didn't think it was to bad, let me know guys this is my first CCC and it's serial number is 701029.

Good looking 680 jeepchicken5000
Looks like maintenance under the belt cover wasn't a high priority :biggrin2: |
I'd say you got a heck of a good deal, congrats! It looks great and as l know if I had come across it, it would have been hard to pass up. Congrats!! :beerchug:
Edit: Aside from the deck, that is...that's just...never been cleaned is what that is. Horrible, but I can't say I take mine apart every time to clean them but I KNOW they aren't that bad :biggrin2: |
Make sure you have plenty of weights, and a new sparkplug!! The Farmers Almanac came out, and it says that your new machine will be working overtime this winter!!
Good looking machine!! :Bowdown2: |
Nice looking tractor:beerchug: I wish I could say the same for the deck:bash2:
Lack of maintenance there. Looks like some cobbled up patch work. But overall I think you made a good deal:bigthink: |
Congrats on the 680!

Nice score on the 680!

Congrats on the 680. Not a bad deal at all. I think instead of using grease, they must have used dirt to lube things. :bigthink:

hey guys Im having a problem with the hydro linkage, its wore out so I welded up the spring retainer cause it had wore it out pretty bad got the spring to fit tight inside of it, I thought that this was a main problem with these and thought I had it fixed but it still does the same thing not as bad but it still does creep slightly backwards and if you don't stop it it speeds up :bigthink:. ill have to get some pics of what I did, the brake pedal returns it to neutral fine but after a second or so creeps. Do I need to adjust the linkage plate on the hydro unit up or down to fix that or is there something else.
