Had a 122 delivered to me today!
After a little negotiation I had a 122 dropped off here a few hours ago. It was 75 miles away and I let the guy know that we had to have a hill to back up to so the incline of the ramp to the bed of my truck wouldn't be a to great of an angle. Anyway he said he would just deliver it. Sight unseen I said bring it on. After all the pictures looked good on the CL ad.
She arrived and it fired right off and the owner unloaded it. First thing I noticed was it had the 3 point lift set-up lift bar and all:beerchug: I took it for a spin, looked at the deck and paid the man. So at the end of the day I bought a sweet 122 for $.58c per pound with the lift set-up and really nice functional deck and a 150 mile trip I didn't have to make:beer2: The good it runs, clutch feels good, lift bar, deck looks great and cuts, new battery and belts. The bad blades stay engaged, steering column has some slack and shifter is all over, but engages easy. Another restoration like the "O"? I don't know, but I think I am going to this a little at a time so I can still drive and cut with it. |
Sounds like you made out pretty good. Most of the tractors I find don't run. Slack in the steering is typical. And it was delivered! excellent.

That sounds like an excellent transaction and being delivered is the icing on the cake. Good deal all around, congrats! :beer2:

Yes delivery is worth it's weight in gold. Like I told my wife 75 miles turns into 150 or 3 hours to start with, then a 1 hour shoot the bull session loading unloading etc., it is 6 hours in reality so time and money saved!
Anyway here are the pics: http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps78f4276e.jpg http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps9d0d1b10.jpg Got some "Mow Rash" in the seat: http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps19b66b12.jpg http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps8bcf6adc.jpg http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...psd349698a.jpg http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps2953eeda.jpg Head lights and some good cleaning up is in her near future. Now that I finally have a lift I guess it's time for some implements:beerchug: |
Very nice fleet you have there as well as sweet blast cabinet and garage! I see some bush wacker flares too? I'm going to be in your neck of the woods I think anyway for jeep fest in jasper in a couple weeks. R u close to there?

Very Nice 122!! :beerchug:
I had a gut feeling you would be adding another pretty soon!! |
Must have seemed like Christmas cam early!!! Great deal, but you shouldn't have parked it in with your other cubs right away, as it looks like there is some jealousy over your attention right now. Nice looking collection and clean garage...

That's funny my wife said the same thing. :beerchug: The reality is the manual transmission tractors are so much easier to move around in the garage. I really need to move the 1650 towards the garage door. This is actually my basement and I try not to start stuff up in there because of the fumes, for we have 600 gallons of fish tanks on the other side in another room. The jeep goes in last and I just push it outside when I start it most of the time. |
Nice looking Wagoneer!
