5 hour trip one way

johncub7172 08-20-2013 04:57 PM

I would buy that IH Cub Cadet in a hurry! Looks to have creeper and hydro lift, IH mower deck, IH wheel weights,.......................................... ......................I don't see how you could go wrong, now go get it A.S.A.P !!!

:biggrin2:

jimbob200521 08-20-2013 04:59 PM

It's hard to tell what it is or has for sure (creeper) by the pic, do you have any more? It's not unreasonable to ask for more for that long of a trip. If all is good, get it get it get it!!

Maple Cabin 08-20-2013 05:06 PM

No other info

I had just seen the post one pic and the link. if you see the link only phone #

Maple Cabin 08-20-2013 05:36 PM

just called

126 is a yes.

Second on the list.

There is a creeper but only works in low range??? otherwise all else is good. engine was rebuilt about 5 years ago. has rear lift but only the plow left and said the he would put in.

J-Mech 08-20-2013 05:55 PM

I wouldn't drive that far for one. But they are easier to come by where I am......

Maple Cabin 08-20-2013 05:59 PM

creeper low only

can any one add to that????

cubcadet 08-20-2013 06:48 PM

as far as the creeperr goes, its the spirol pin or a worn shift fork, i would buy it

cubcadet 08-20-2013 06:49 PM

a 126 is the 3rd rarest IH cub cadet made i believe

J-Mech 08-20-2013 07:26 PM

OH! It's a 126! I missed that! ...... Maybe I would drive.....

Nick is probably right. Good chance it has a broken spirol pin.

What's 5 hours, 10 total, a "I'm getting something" road trip? For a running, operational IH Cub Cadet 126 with IH wheel weights, hydro lift, creeper, and questionable 3-point, .........Hey, C-ya later I'd be on that like white on rice.

No wonder he is in second place. If your not first , your last J-Mech!:biggrin2:

cc_bob 08-20-2013 10:00 PM

Looks like a lot of $ in parts alone. I would make the drive just because it's fun to do. Plus NF Hydraulic lifts are cool.

Cub Cadet 123 08-20-2013 10:06 PM

If the wifey is involved, it could mean a nice overnight trip or mini-get away!! You could always advertize for someone with a tractor/trailer who will be dead headed to pick it up for you and drop it off near you. Lots of possibilities....all with the same end result. In my truck, pulling a trailer, I average about 15 mpg. At 60 mph, that's 4 gal/hr and at about $4/gal, that is $16/hr.....so for a 5 hr trip, that's about $80. Would you pay $380-$400 for the deal?

Back to topic. 126

I ran it, and in high range it would jump out and grind. I see that the PO tried to extend the stroke of the level but that did not help. Any input would be a great help.

thanks

jbrewer 08-21-2013 07:30 PM

That's the spirit! Excellent score... looks like a really nice tractor!

John

Cubcrazy 08-21-2013 08:22 PM

Congrats on the 126!:beerchug:

ACecil 08-21-2013 10:15 PM

Glad you got the 126!

johncub7172 08-22-2013 03:44 PM

All I can suggest is that you have a look in the creeper manual. I don't have the proper manual/part number {name of} in front of me. Once the creeper is repaired, I would then weld back the extended portion of the shift lever slot.

Glad you got the IH Cub Cadet 126! What other plans do you have for it? If it were mine, a paint job is in order. Original colors! :biggrin2:

V30crewcab 08-22-2013 04:17 PM

just curious, what is so special about a 126? or is it just the creeper setup, and hydraulic stuff on it? I know where one is local for sale, but doesn't have the extras.

Maple Cabin 08-22-2013 04:18 PM

Creeper

When I had it for a drive low works as it should. In 1:1, will work if you hold in and not too much load otherwise it pops out. So hopefully it the shifter fingers and not the gear and slide for 1:1 :bash2: or the slide got put in backwards :bigthink:

Found the headlight switch and lights that are there work. No tail lights any replacements out there:bigthink:

Thanks for all the great comments :beerchug:

Reread sum of my post :bash:myself A little punchy after the long day.:BangPC:

Maple Cabin 08-22-2013 04:32 PM

Resto in order

A resto is in order but it will go down the list :Boohoo: 782 PS upgrade
:biggrin2: I have most of the parts, just need the valve support bracket. (Extreme cub parts looks like the only source) 1200 to get back together. waiting on parts

Third rarest production cub made and options make it even better.

pulled the bastard hich and replace with the correct one. found a couple longer tethered bolts and walo. Next to put on the resto list.:biggrin2:

drglinski 08-23-2013 06:56 PM

It looks good with all the options but the custom paint job is funky.
