Nice find. Those are hard to find. Not as hard as the 169 or 800 muffler though. There was one on epay a week or so ago (86 muffler). Nick, I bet you gave plenty of green for your muffler at the "warehouse". :biggrin2:

yep, $60 and $10 shipping:bash2:

I could use one of those 86 mufflers too...

Nice find on the correct muffler for your 86! It looks great!

The muffler on my new-to-me 86 is still in pretty good shape so I'm counting myself lucky... one less thing to have to replace or fix.

Forgive me if I'm ignorant. The muffler for the 1000 to the 1282 is still available. In the pic, it shows it to have a bracket made on it that the 800 does not. If that is the only difference.... that's pretty minor. Also, I didn't know if the 10hp and above used a larger inlet pipe or something. (I have a 7 and 8 HP, but not easily accessible to me at this moment to reference from.) Even that would be no big deal, a good exhaust shop can help with that problem. If an original is what you want, can you tell me what the difference is or post some pics. I can find anything, or may be able to give you some ideas on how to produce one that looks EXACTLY like the original, which, if no one could tell, would that be OK?

The 800 muffler is a smaller in length and diameter compared to the rest of the quietline series.

Otherwise, are they the same? Same outlet length, inlet size etc.? How much smaller? How much shorter? I'm just curious now......

So will the other quietline mufflers work? They just aren't original?

cubcadet 07-29-2013 06:56 PM

mike, my 800 has the same muffler, short like that one in the pic:beer2:

Not sure, never compared the two. I will have to measure them out and see exactly what the numbers are.
