Red power round up 2013 pics

I attended the Red Power Round Up in Lima OH on wednesday/thursday, and thought I'd share my Cub Cadet pics with those that weren't able to attend. This will be done in installments due to the perimeters of the site.

Overall, it is the place to be if you are a IH enthusiast. This year's show was at the Allen County fairgrounds and the fairgrounds themselves are some of the nicest grounds I've ever been to. Lots of seats in the shade, and many places to make "pit stops."

Here is a teaser shot of probably 1/4 of the red that was there.

There were a lot of vendors selling IH and IH cub cadet parts. My favorite was the no-attachments $900 169. :bash2:

Lots of hacked up Cubs there too, some done well, some not so much.

Enjoyed the pics, Daniel!

More pics. Most models were represented; no shortages of originals, a couple of 86s, saw at least 3 800s, and at least one special 582.

I found out what a #2 trailer was good for- hauling kids/stuff around at a show. :biggrin2:

There were two kids pushing a (didn't see which model) gear drive CC around trying to start it. One would get it going and then the other would let out the clutch causing a giant SCREEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHH cuz of course they were doing it on asphalt....they never did get it started.

Sell some cubs and build one, heck if you sold them all you could afford two buildings that size!! :biggrin2:

drglinski 06-22-2013 10:16 AM

More of the "good" cubs could have fit in the primary barn if the new ones that were on a promo were moved outta there. No one was really looking at them anyway... :biggrin2:

drglinski 06-22-2013 10:23 AM

This one was restored by the Pennsylvania Chapter and on raffle.

I sure wish there could be a Red Power show closer to NC.

red56turbo 06-22-2013 11:52 AM

Awesome pics! Loved the video, too! I really liked the 982 with rear Sickle Mower. Never seen one in person. I'd love to own one though....... Thanks for sharing. :drool2:

On a side note, anyone got a video of one of those unicorn log splitters at work? I'm curious how they operate.

No vid, but they did have some literature on how it worked. You put the cub in gear/forward and stick the log on it. The log spins around until it hits the red bar stop and it screws it self onto the wedge/screw until it splits in two.

I rode 3 1/2 hrs to the one in LaPorte IN 3 years ago and about fell down when I found out that the 2013 show was in Lima OH, only 150 miles from me. Normally they are over a 15 hr drive from me. IE 2014 is in Huron SD which is a 15 hour drive for me, and 2015 is in MO which again is about 15 hrs away.

johncub7172 06-22-2013 02:00 PM

Wow! Thanks for the picture show!

Great Pics and thanks for sharing.

Really was the next best thing to being there.

Sugarmaker 06-23-2013 10:27 AM

Great pictures! You did a nice job capturing the show for us that did not make it! Thank you! Quite a variety of cubs. That 147 was a real nice restoration. Lots of great looking restored, original, and modified tractors!
Regards,
Chris

Cub Cadet donated $4000 to the Cub Cadet area to help make Red Power Round Up 2013 a huge sucess.

Cub Cadet has donated every year to the host chapter.
