New to me 104
9 Attachment(s)
Ive been on here for a couple of months looking around and wanting a loader Cub. I had a Cub 2160 that I sold, and bought a Cub 104 from a neighbor. I have all kinds of questions..
1st, my serial number on the back of the rear end is #259337. If I have researched right, it was made in Aug. 1968. 2nd, my motor serial #D242440 I have no clue on year other than its a 10 hp I think. 3rd, it has a scrape blade on the front and came with a deck mower. I think I'm missing the mule drive that the front PTO belt runs backs to connect to the deck. The deck #421U1113 I have no clue if it goes with this tractor. 4th, it needs a battery and I have no clue what size. I know i need some more items, like the right breather cover and headlights and such.. I'm really excited about owning this thing and plan on a full restore as soon as my shop is completed.. Any help i would greatly appreciate it..Thank you for your time in reading my thread.. Chris |
Answer:
#1 - You are correct #2 - Yes, it is a 10HP Engine. The Engine is a 1968 engine and that information is found on page 1.3 of the TP-2379 Service Manual. See Tech Library Section #3 - That information is also located in the Tech Library Section for Implements. #4 - Basically, the largest CCA battery that will physically fit in your battery tray. :IH Trusted Hand: |

wow nice 104 with options

Nice tractor! Correct deck, but I don't see the deck mounting/lifting carriage, and as you said: the mule drive bracket.

ive got one, check out the thread of me tearing it apart and bringing it back to life.
I like mine. I wish it had hydro lift or electric lift though. |
I I just got a 104 two weeks ago and my friend and I just got it running correctly....aside from a throttle adjustment. We took it on a victory ride when we got It started and had a blast on it. Your wheel weight are worth at least 100 dollars alone-you did very well and it will be a great cub for you.....enjoy!
