The 1650 I recently purchased has a push button below the dash. On my tractor it is not hooked to anhthing. Does anyone know what it would be for?

Definatly a po mod. Maybe for a horn or something

R Bedell 05-03-2013 10:14 PM

It is NOT original. I am guessing some PO mods.

Hook a horn to it!! :bigthink:

Or an ether injection for easy cold starts!! :biggrin2: I have that on my 584 IH.

Dive warning? Launch missiles? Eject passenger? Cold beer delivery?

(The Ether shot is a GREAT idea)

Electric PTO.

At least that's what its for on my 1650.

cubby102 05-04-2013 01:29 AM

PTO switch should be on top of dash above throttle lever.... interesting

Crap! You're right!

<it's been too long since last season for me!!>

cubby102 05-04-2013 02:02 AM

Eh easy mistake. These machines are old and possibly had plenty of time to modify. Who knows what have happened to these things

dale c. 05-04-2013 08:23 AM

looks to me like someone replaced the fuse holder with the switch

timbo2 05-04-2013 08:38 AM

yeah looks like the main fuse is empty and lights fuse has the toggle switch. wonder if the po moved the fuses or just bypasses them. Ive had bad experience jumping fuses and don't recommend.

bolivier 05-04-2013 04:23 PM

What happened in your bad experience jumping a fuse. I've done so before, but just temporarily to test something. But again, I am interested in what happened to you.

timbo2 05-04-2013 05:24 PM

I melted some wires from a short in the charging system. I was testing too and luckily I didn't hurt anything expensive but I have fixed the problem since and replaced some wire.
