Well after a few days of waiting and hoping, I was able to get a cub I've been looking for since Mike and I made a trip to see Lew. See if you guys can figure out what is special about it before I let the cat out of the bag. And Mike you don't get a guess because you were there when I got it and I owe ya a great big THANKS for all the help landing it!!!! :biggrin2:
I know what it is!!:bigthink:
I dont know :bigthink:
SHHHH:Shhhh:
Invisible Engine?
Rubber band powered or solar with a big Gov. subsidy. :biggrin2:
The serial # is the first or last made.I do not see a lift arm but it does have a rockshaft.possible nos frame?
nice clean 71 i want one hehe i dont know what is special about it let the cat out of the bag already:biggrin2:
I'll take a stab. Looks like a early model because of the solid clutch shield. The grill looks like a IH56? I think maybe it has something to do with the crown fenders? 6.8 foot outside turning radius? Cell phone jack?
I'm stumped, but my 71 is a late model. |
It was once owned by Abraham Lincoln??

Nice find on your recoil start 71, Eric!
My father in law and I picked up a 100 with fenders, and the mower deck today at an auction. So that puts us up to 3 little tractors between us. Would post a pic, but I use my phone to access the forum, and it won't let me upload any.

nice pull start 71 eric i like auctions:biggrin2:

Pull, Pull, Pull, Put,Pull,Put,Put,Pull,Put,Put,Put,Put,Put
Nice Score there Eric! Can't say that I've ever seen one. Any idea on how many were made?

I like The NO BATTERY thing!:biggrin2:

Nice find on the pull start. Can't say I ever seen one in person either. Sure would be a nice addition to a collection.
Lew, I'm curious. How hard are those to start? I assume if you've got a nice, hot mag and the carb set right, they'll fire right off. I guess it's not like you're pull starting a K341. :biggrin2: |
I was going to guess a recoil start engine before I saw the answers because I did not see a wiring harness hanging off the frame.
That sure is a nice looking 72 Lew!:beerchug:
How do you shutoff the engine? I know the redneck way to :biggrin2:
what mike said:beerchug:
OK I get the cool factor but I would rather push a button or turn a switch to start the engine, guess it's just me. Maybe cause I'm old and lazy.:bigthink:
Josh,
It starts on the 1st or 2nd pull, sometimes one pull. To stop the motor you turn off the key!!! what a great idea. Yes it is Mike, but you prolly have like 6 of them. |

Thanks for the insight Lew.
Mike, we've found something cub related that you don't have yet! :beer2: :biggrin2: Turn the key and it grounds the mag. |
