1450 and attachments

Think I will take a look at this one on weekend. Looks like it's been "riddin hard and put away wet", but worth a look see. No response to e-mail, will try calling tonight. Don't know as I'll pay $700.00 for it. Mind you maybe I can peddle the tiller as I have no need for it. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzUwWDEwMD...J6w~~48_20.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzUwWDEwMD...CuQ~~48_20.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzUwWDEwMD...-Rw~~48_20.JPG |
looks a little black up front. better check and see if any oil is left in the engine.
looks like theres 400 in attachments so the price isnt to bad. |
I saw that black. Will definitely have a look at the oil level. Not sure is the front has taken a hit or not.
Roger, My 1450 looked almost that bad when I got it too. It came with a mower deck, 42" blade and tire chains. The price was "JUST GET IT OUT OF MY YARD"!!
around me i could clean that up and split it up and get 1000 easy for it. and not even feel like i ripped anyone off.

Up here in Canuckland Cubs aren't so easy to find, and bring more $$ than in the US. I'm looking at this one tomorrow if all goes well. Plus a 1210. Good chance I'll bring both home.
The owner of the 1450 says it looks a lot better than the pic shows. He's to send me more pics today. And like most of the rest of you fellows---Wifey thinks I've lost my marbles. |
If I buy it, and likely will, the 1450 will be kept. And probably peddle the tiller. I have no need/use for it.

When it comes to cubs......... Never listen to your wife!!!
And I'll never put power steering on one. Cuz then she'd want one too!!!!
If I wasn't so far from Canada I'd gladly take the tiller off your hands. I'm searching my area for one now before spring hits.
What kind of $$ should the tiller fetch??

The gear box is the right angle drive attached to the rear diff??
And yes it is a #2 tiller. Thank you, and yes I did buy the 1450. have lots to do to it, I'll be looking for info no doubt. AND, cheers to you. |
Congrats on getting the 1450!:beerchug:
Congats on the 1450 that was a heck of a deal even if you didn't get them to come down.
Nice find on your 1450!
Good find. I paid 700.00 for the same setup last summer, but mine was far from running. I learned not to set a deadline but just keep at it till its right.
Good Luck :beerchug: |

By the way, along with the tractor, blower, and tiller, I also got IHC cadet wheels weights, extra set of rear and front tires(think the original---looks like a snowtire pattern) and rims.
The engine oil dipstick tube is loose. I tried to check the oil, and the whole thing came up. Is that just a press fit?? Oil pours out now when running.
Yes.....It's a pressed fit. Take it out and clean the area that presses into the block and put some Permatex Form-A-Gasket No. 2 Sealant on it.
Thanks Steve. Will try and get at that tomorrow.

Well, got the oil dipstick tube anchored and sealed.
Still have major leak apparently from other side of engine. Hope to get at that this weekend. Then tackle the hard start issue. Set timing, carb, new fuel filter may be all it takes. The engine is loose and can be moved around. I think they have bolted cradle solid to frame, at least no sign of ISO mounts. Bouncing back and forth between it and 1210 I bought same day. |
