What Cub Cadet is this

This is all I know of this cub Cadet, someone send me these pictures, it is a 27hp, 3 cycle, it will run, will not charge, very strong tractor, and yes it is very dirty, anyone tell anything by these pictures:bigthink:

dsmithjr 01-10-2013 04:34 AM

Its a 90s model Cyclops series tractor. You can tell by the radiator in back of the engine, the fender shape and the steering wheel style. I would think it would only be a 17hp if its the Kubota diesel I don't know the HP on the Kubota gas tractors. Not much help buts its all I know.

R Bedell 01-10-2013 06:08 AM

To me, it looks like a model 1782 or 2182. I am leaning towards the 2182 with the 21HP Kubota. A 27HP tractor would put that into the C.U.T. category.

What is this

Hi All,
Appears to be Kubota gas, notice the coil and plug wires.

Take care,
Mike

Matt G. 01-10-2013 06:33 AM

That is a 2182.

dsmithjr 01-10-2013 07:58 AM

Donny is it for sale?? or is that being to nosey?

Donny Curtis 01-10-2013 09:42 AM

2182

Matt you said it is a 2182, what motor do you think it has then, I have not heard back from the guy who called me, it is his Father In Law's, was told it needed an alternator, he was price $360 for it, so he parked it and bought a new cutter.

Oak 01-10-2013 09:43 AM

Yep, that's a 2182. The best gas engine ever put in a Cub, the WG600. I have a feeling Mr. SamMac may chime in.:biggrin2:

Good guess Todd. Yep that is a 2182. Looks like it has had a tough life. Any idea what they want for it? If you get it I would take a good look at the wiring harness before going out and replacing the dynamo or as they are calling it the alternator. I ended up making my own wiring harness for my 2182. The Cub harness design is a disaster. :beerchug:

cub123 01-10-2013 11:19 AM

Yup, it's a 2182, great tractor:beerchug: Seems how he didnt think it was worth $360 that's what I would offer him for it:biggrin2:

Great thinking Cub123, i think i'd enjoy a 3cyl gas as much as an oil burner. Mike:biggrin2:

Methos 01-10-2013 01:35 PM

Donny I would get it for that price. Keep us posted!:beerchug:

Sam Mac 01-10-2013 04:03 PM

The way I read his post the $360 was for the alternator not the tractor.

Donny Curtis 01-10-2013 04:05 PM

2182

360 was to replace the alternator

I don’t see the hood in the pics. If you need to replace all the plastic it can be expensive. If the dynamo is infect bad also some big bucks. Based on the appearance of the tractor in the pics my guess is it has not been well maintained. If you can pick it up cheap OK otherwise it can turn into a money pit. Just my 2 cents but assuming the plastic is good I wouldn’t give more than $700.00 for it and that is assuming that the rear end is not busted up. The upside is that the WG600 is an awesome engine, quite, easy on gas and with good care it will last a long time. I payed $1000.00 for this one with a 60" Haban. Pics of the as picked up and as it is now.

He has the hood, just has it off to work on it, said the tractor will work an hour before the battery goes dead, said it is a very good running and very strong, have not heard back from him, I asked him what they wanted, he wanted me to make offer, if so I will, but he might not like it, it is going to need a little cleaning, lol

He is in Henderson, Tn about 15 to 20 miles South of Jackson, Tn.

Donny, it is worth that even if you have to part it.:Shame: I picked this one up a few years ago. The engine in these tractors are awesome. Mine still looks like that but it still runs.:biggrin2:

dsmithjr 01-11-2013 05:47 PM

Donny if your not interested I am. That would be a perfect engine fof my 2072 project

Sam Mac 01-11-2013 05:54 PM

Oak 01-11-2013 06:10 PM

If you all don't keep John's in box filled with POTW pics it just might make it as POTW.

You've been warned.
