Had a great visit with Duke today! He was enjoying the super...lol! Jenn was liking the 782, as well. Here's some pics from today. Thanks for your help, buddy!

Very nice 782 Allen, I was on the phone with Duke this afternoon and he said he was coming to your place with the 782, good to see he made it there safely.

R Bedell 11-18-2012 08:41 PM

Looking good Allen.....!

Mountain Heritage 11-18-2012 08:44 PM

So Allen has joined the red fever club! Nice to see someone else is having the fever too! Looks good, how does the 100 get along with the 782? I am thinking that lawn is going to be worn out by the end of the weekend! You going to have enough room in the sheds for all THREE of your Cubs now Allen? I am surprised Duke didn't leave with one of them, you know, fair is fair, he brings you one, he leaves with one!

:biggrin2:

garrynok 11-18-2012 09:07 PM

Really nice 782! I'm envious, my ole clunker has a long way to go to look that good!

jbrewer 11-18-2012 09:31 PM

Looks great!

I was just pestering Duke about photos of the delivery trip , and here you are! Good to see you enjoying your new toy. That's a very nice looking red Cub you've got there!

John

PS: You didn't let Duke drive off with the Super, did ya?

ajcombs 11-18-2012 09:44 PM

Nahh Sam, I still have the super and 782. Jenn enjoys riding them. :biggrin2:

PaulS 11-18-2012 10:13 PM

Allen you have to trade your 100 for a 102 or possibly a 122 then all your cubs will end in 2. Major league looking lineup.

ACecil 11-18-2012 10:16 PM

Thanks Paul!

Cubcrazy 11-18-2012 10:25 PM

Congrats Allen on getting the 782!
It looks right at home there!:beerchug:

red56turbo 11-18-2012 10:30 PM

Nice pics and vid Allen. Glad to see she made it home. Sounds like she runs great, too. So, what engine did it end up having? KT17 series I or II, M18?

Methos 11-18-2012 10:52 PM

Is it too soon to have sellers remorse? Oh well I'll get over it. Knowing it's got a great home helps.:beerchug:

Congrats buddy it was great to see you and Jenn again! I enjoyed my seat time with ya today. The super was fun to drive.

I'm looking forward to restoring the #2 for ya too!

What makes one a series 1 or 2? While that beautiful piece of work was at my place I found series 2 markings all over the engine tins but im sure that doesn't matter if they were changed. It sounds good though doesn't!

zippy1 11-19-2012 12:45 AM

You go Allen:beerchug:
Great addition to your fleet. What's next?

4SPEED 11-19-2012 03:57 AM

The series II was the better of the two engines. It has full pressure lubrication to the mains as well as rod bearings. The series I had lower pressure lube to the mains, and splash lubrication to the rods. The series II could also have the provision for a remote oil filter.

The series I engine is a good engine if the oil is kept full and you stay away from mowing on slopes. That is the main thing that starves the rods causing block windows.

Allen, she sounds great in the vid and I don't see any smoke. She's a good motor so don't worry about it. Sounds like it may be a series II anyway. :biggrin2:

Adam & Josh: It could be a Series 2. The oil fill and dipstick are the same as the Mag 18 in my 1872.

Allen, Looking Good! Those 82-series are just such a nice machine to operate!

A nice, balanced collection you have, with room to grow! Was there a mower deck included in the aquisition? Mower decks = seat time!

:beerchug:

Thanks Tom! I didn't get a mower deck with the 782. Jenn uses her 2130 to mow the yard. :beerchug:
