Cub Catable

Alright here's a little backstory on this contraption....
So a few years back I had envisioned a mobile bar/ picnic table thing to cruise around at tractor pulls/shows, fairs etc. Well this summer I had picked up a couple 682's from my uncle, one ran (with an onan transplant) and one has a blown up kohler. With the influence of some liquid courage, me and some buddies devised a plan and dubbed it the cub catable. I had made a box frame to mount a table that was originally a bar in my college house and before that was a loft for my bed in my dorm room. (told you there was quite a backstory). The frame was then welded to the front of the 682, and the front axle was attached to the front of the frame. The steering rod was lengthened, and a 1/2 in cable with a turnbuckle was placed from the front to the back to prevent sagging. The finishing touches still need to be done, as in paint and put the side shields and hood back on, also the grill and headlights will be placed on the front on the tractor to provide a somewhat "stock" look. Also dual wheels may be added for stability, but a trial run at a tractor pull proved successful. As seen in the last pic, dad seemed to enjoy it lol.

Thanks Duke, and Sam, ya i kind of felt bad hacking on a Cub but I figured....heck I got two of them, and I wouldn't build it out of any other machine than a CC.

With an upcoming town festival, I found it fitting to pull the cub ca-table back out of the shed. It had been stored since a lawnmower poker run back in Jan. I had a small steering issue that needed to be addressed, and the tin work needed to be put back on for its parade debut. As usual I was under the gone so paint will still have to wait, but after trimming and cutting some tins, I got er ready to go. Here are some pics of the install, and one on the parade route.

Thought I had seen it all! Very clever. The parade shot with the guys and the shade umbrella is a classic!
Great job!

Chris

Sam, I like your idea and it seems to be catching on. We had a gentleman in my small town take what we would consider a SGT manufactured by Simplicity and do the same thing. The tractor had power steering, full hydro, so the first year it was a neat unit. The second year brought dual rears, custom "hood", rear fenders, lights, etc. I am sure year 3 will bring new paint all the way around. It is a big hit with all the kids in our small town, and many adults too.
