How much is my 782 worth????

So this weekend a JD 425 found its way into my garage for some junk I had laying around.
I was thinking of just selling it until I started driving it around, and oh boy is that thing nice .So I was thinking of selling my 782 with 50 inch deck and front blade with IH wheel weights. tractors is made by IH build in 1980 with a kolher kt17. What is a fair price to sell it at.
I have about 800.00 into it.
New York
Thanks guys

Plenty of experts here that will be along shortly i am sure. I am not one of them, but around here I see them at about 1000-1500 in nice shape. Rougher they still fetch around 800. Condition, hours, and engine type are the key.

Regards,
KPD

Its worth whatever you want it to be worth. :biggrin2:

No, it's worth whatever someone will pay for it.

I wish...I think I will list it for 800.00 , I got at least that into it not including my time and sweat which nobody pays for. You guys think its a fair price

IACubCadet 11-06-2012 07:05 PM

It's not our decision. Like Matt said, its what someone is willing to pay. I was kidding when I said its whatever you think its worth. Price it accordingly to other tractors and go from there. You're going to spend much more time asking us what we think its worth than putting it on the web for a price and getting a buyer to haggle with. My .02

Well finally listed it on Cl for 850.00 .

Did I over priced my 782 ? I list it on craigslist and only had 2 people asking if it was still available. If i drop the price i will be taking a hit, but might have to, any seguestions to what price would attract more buyers.

I think if it doent sell with in the next 2 weeks i will part it all out and put it on ebay.

This is a bad time to list stuff for sale before the holidays and all.:TwoCents:

remember this is a hobby and most never get back out what you put into them.

I know I never will. you just chalk it up to ( I had fun working on it , and using it) and move on.

Id say it'll sell at your asking price, someday. to the right person.

good luck with it.

List it in the for sale section and I'm sure you'll get some offers.:beerchug:

I gave $400 for a 782 with blade, wheel weights and a good running series II motor. Mechanically it needs the usual stuff, cosmetically it's lacking. Like others have said, price hinges on the area you are selling it in, condition, time of year and how bad someone wants it. Good luck in getting the best price you can from it. By the way, I'm with you, I really like the JD 318 and the 400 series.

Still for sale? I must have seen it on CL, but didn't realize it was you.

Flatbedford 11-20-2012 03:06 PM

I guess this is you.

I did catch my eye. If it had front hydraulics, I'd be interested.

@ndre 11-20-2012 03:28 PM

That's mine. Yeah the hydrolics is what convinced me to keep the 425 over the cub.
