Donovan, I'll sneak out and get you some pics. I do know that it's in the manual as Adam aka ajcombs used it to set them on the originals we restored.:beer2:

No look at the second picture. The plate with the holes is for the governor spring.

I think Duke has it wrong. The end of the cable goes in one of the lower holes on the disc.
Mr. Duke is the cable on yours attached to the gov arm????

Donovan M. 10-10-2012 08:44 PM

I'm still confused???

I don't know if I can help here but thought I had to try. I have the engine service manual for the original. Page 19 shows the governor mechanism. There are 7 parts listed
A. Drive Pin
B. Governor Spring
C. Bushing Nut
D. Speed control Disk
E. Throttle Bracket
F. Governor Shaft
G. Governor Arm

Now I will try to explain each and where they are.
The Drive Pin is located in the last hole (counterclockwise) of the speed control disk.

The Governor Spring is located at the notch in the speed control disk.

The bushing nut is located inside the L shaped Governor arm but outside of the speed control disk.

The speed control disk is the round disk with the holes

The throttle bracket is the straight arm with the hole in the end and is where the throttle cable is connected by way of a cable clamp.

The governor shaft is the pin that all this is attached to.

The governor arm is the L shaped arm.

When you look at the whole mechanism the previous part explanation should be more clear.

My book takes a page to explain on set up and adjustment and if I can scan those pages I may be able to send them to you email.
