Calling All Connecticut Members!

So, How many of you are from the Constitution state? I live in East Haddam which is in Middlesex county, sorta in the middle of the state.

Sam Mac 09-20-2012 07:59 AM

I used to live in Waterrtown. Got out because the cost of living was just out of control, the roads suck (I also ride MC's) and I got tired of the winters.:beerchug:

R Bedell 09-20-2012 09:18 AM

We have a 168 members from the State of Connecticut

ihcc104 09-20-2012 10:29 AM

Sam, Yes the cost of living is nuts! But, I do love the NE and I plan on sticking around a while longer.

R Bedell, Holy cow that's a lot. But I wonder how many are actually active. I went through the member list yesterday and like 5700 out of the 6200 don't even have 1 post on the forums.

Cory we have lots of lurkers that create a account to view pictures.

ihcc104 09-20-2012 01:46 PM

Ah, Well that makes sense! I've owned these masterpieces for nearly 10 years now, and finally decided to join a online community. No one else understands my enthusiasm for these machines in my everyday life, other than my dad. So I figured I'd find a group that did!

Glad to have another fellow CT member!

I'm from Enfield, Which is in north central CT just below the Mass border. It's about 20 miles north of Hartford, but pretty much any town is within a stones throw of Hartford. :biggrin2:

You guys crack me up, CT is what a 1 hour drive east to west? Try VA some time 323 miles on I81 from the north to the south. Oh it's too far to go from New Haven to Hartford. LMAO

Just had to bust being an ex CT resident. :biggrin2:

cadzag72 03-11-2013 05:57 PM

ihcc104 04-18-2013 12:02 AM

Yes sir I did, It is running great. I got a bunch of parts for it, I need to try to find some skid plates though, and someone who does decals for it. I got a manual for it, and some information from Jacobsen directly. :beerchug: How'd you make out with the Hydro?

i got the 1650. its a beautiful machine. doesnt run and needs some work but what else is new :P hopefully next paycheck i will get a new wiring harness and switch for it as well as some other parts. hopefully i can find someone who has them. here is a pic. its not all together as i was checking out all the hydraulic lines and such.

markmdz 08-27-2013 12:33 PM

hey that 1650 looks mighty familiar.

just found this thread, but I've been on the forum for a bit now. I've been mowing with a 100 since my dad brought it home in June of '92. A few months back, he gave me that very 100, and since then I've been bitten by the bug. Yellow fever 100%. It's a curse and a blessing. ...but my 7 y/o son is already bit too. The past couple nights he's been on my case about going out to the garage to work on the tractors.

After I dropped off that 1650 to you, about 2 hrs later, I filled the trailer back up but with a 122.

Current stable is:

100 from my dad: 42" cast end deck, headlights, taillight, weights, creeper, fenders. My weekly mower.
100 restored from a fellow CT cc'er: stripped, but I've been collecting options for it.
New addition: 122: 42" cast end deck, headlights, taillight, creeper, 3-pt lift, rear PTO (huge bonus there). All original, completely unrestored. Not currently running, but hopes to be by the end of the week.

Wish I was 675 miles closer to this one. Last time I went they had some very COOL stuff. A couple pics from the 2007 show.

PaulS 10-04-2013 09:53 AM

Engine nrs and specs are on a little plate attached to the engine shroud on the left side. The serial nr of the machine is located on a raised area of the rear end on the left side. Left and right are as if you were sitting on the seat.

Another nice show at the Zagray Farm Museum this past Saturday. Lots of beautiful restored Cubs on display, and plenty of models needing work for sale. Several landscaping rakes, plows, mowing decks, tires, rims, creeper controls, PTO clutches, etc were available.

I took several photos of a 169 to help a neighbor with his restoration.

Cubcrazy 10-07-2013 02:16 PM

Thanks for the pics! Me likes the 169!

Hello I am from Ledyard CT. I just bought my first cub. It is a 102 it has a 3point hitch and a hydraulic pump. I might have payed to much for it but I like it. Came with with attachments. I hope this thing can plow threw snow or I will not be happy.we have a 126 at work that we use to toe cars and trucks in and out of the shop..... And it is awesome for that it just pulls and pulls. To make a statement about the state we live in we need to become a red state for some time.
:coffee:

malchren 12-07-2013 10:46 AM

you shouldnt have trouble at all plowing some snow with it. i have a 102 myself (one of four tractors i own) :biggrin2: and it does great so long as you have chains and a mostly flat driveway. I happen to live on a hill so i use it to clear a path to my wood pill and clean off my patio havent had a problem with it so long as the chains are on it. also you should be carefull of the lift rod for the plow as it tends to bend in heavy snow or dirt ( i bent mine plowing gravel) so i make a new one out of two steel rods.

Not far...... Can you let me know if you like the blower or the plow better.. I would say the blower.

I just bought my first house in the west end of New Britain earlier this year and picked up my 105 for lawn and snow duty. It's like having a mini car to tinker with!
