Yea or Nay

I have had my O since May and love the little guy but it's really not very practical for my needs. I was just offered an even trade, My O for an 1999 AGS2160 that is in great shape other than a busted headlamp..What's everyone's opinion on the 2160 and do you think it's a fair trade. Thanks ~J~

i would keep the original. if anything just to have. that newer one will never hold up as long or as well as the original eather.

CaptMax 09-08-2012 10:26 AM

I wouldn't do it but that is just my opinion. I think you will hate yourself later if you did. Just go buy another mower if you want one, but keep the "O".

no i wouldn't do it....if the Original your talking about is the one in your profile picture, its a very nice looking machine, vs a newer cheaply made model cub. not worth it. ive seen 2160 cub models around my area go for $250 in good running, cutting shape. keep your O. like the other guys said, you may end up kicking yourself later down the road.

Ags 2162

:banned: the ags machines, have clutch problem, if PO doesn't use right .
I would only go for a 2000 series HDS, But with those light weights u never know !:bigthink::beerchug:

TheSaturnV 09-08-2012 12:26 PM

No way, no how. Keep the O and buy another toy if you're wanting something more comfortable.

yeah, not a difficult decision for me either- I'd keep the O and get something else that's more practical for you. I know I'd regret it if I had an O and sold it.

i know i regret getting rid of the one i had, and it was all messed up from the po repainting it, smoked like crazy, belt slipped and had no cog belt for the deck......i only rode it once but it did have fenders lights 3 point and spring assist... and i regret even considering getting rid of it.

rwairforce 09-08-2012 09:49 PM

Keep it.

If you want a more practical tractor I would suggest buying one. Act as if you don't own the one you have......you would have nothing to trade and that's exactly what I would do.
I'm 60 years old and I've had things that I sold and now I don't have or the money.
I've finally learned, now I have a bunch of Cubs. A few hundred dollars just isn't worth it to me. Once it's gone it's gone and so is your tractor but it's obviously your call. You've heard from us and I think the majority is telling you to keep it.

Diz Jr. 09-08-2012 09:50 PM

I agree with the rest of the Guys.
Keep the O :biggrin2:

ACecil 09-08-2012 09:52 PM

I'm with the others, I'd definitely keep the O.

bkw3614 09-08-2012 10:19 PM

I went through a similar thing earlier this summer. In the end, I kept my 1250 nightmare and bought a new 2100. I now have two Cub Cadets. I am happy not to own just one. Keep that Original and make a reasonable offer for the other one. You can use that new one and enjoy the Original.

JUrbanik 09-09-2012 06:53 PM

Unanimous

:biggrin2: Well you all have surely convinced me to hold onto the O...The other party wasn't too happy about it but what can I tell ya..I never committed to anything..

Now I just need to get that clutch bushing in so I can at least enjoy my O..I miss tooling around on the little guy..

Thank you all for the great advice and opinions..It really helped a lot in making this decision..Cheers ~J~:beerchug:

Yep J I think you did the right thing also. My Dad and I have only had our "O" since late last winter and I wouldn't even think of getting rid of him NO how LOL.

JUrbanik 09-09-2012 09:40 PM

Thanks Eric

This also was a purchase that my father and I went in on as a project to have some fun with..There's a lot of options I would still like to pick up for it so I'm glad I'll have the chance to still have some fun with it.

mrjeep81 09-10-2012 07:59 PM

The fact the other guy wasnt happy should tell you everything you need to know.
He wanted your tractor and not his!

jbrewer 09-10-2012 08:06 PM

You made the right call!
