Can a original brinly set up go on a 71?
i have a extra brinly set up with all the parts and was wondering if it would fit on my 71 i like tht tractor more
any ideas:?
I'm not for sure myself. Set it up, see if it fits and check for clearances would be my advice. I honestly don't know, so hopefully someone who does know will chime in.

What "set up" do you mean? Just the sleeve hitch adapter?
We really need pics to advise.
Just saying "a extra brinly set up" is too wide open to offer help. :bigthink: |

As I understand his question, he wants to know if the brinly sleeve hitch pictured below for an original cub cadet will work on a model 71. My instinct says yes, but my parts are 40 miles away from me and I cannot say for sure...

correct!!!! do u think the mounts and lift bar will work also?
I would say the lower bracket that bolts to the trans and the two lift straps will work. It should only be about a 15 minute job to swap these parts. If it was me I would just swap them and see how it works.
I have never had an older style adapter in my hand, but I believe the holes are the same width apart on all Cub Cadet Brinly adapters.
everything is a perfect match EXCEPT the lift bar , does any one have any pictures ?
if your talking about the 3point assembly...the Original 3pt and narrow frame 3pt are totally different. the brinly adapter will work on both original, narrow and wide frame, but the 3pt itself will only work on the tractor it was made for.
