Picking up another IH built 682
I'm going down to a friends house tomorrow and picking up a IH built 682 roller. Now I need to decide what to do with it. I know Connor wants it, but I might change it into a 482. I have all the parts to do it. It might be coming with the parts to add hydraulic lift so I might have to go that route too. Just not sure what's going to happen to it yet. No matter if it stays a 682 or turns into a 482, i doubt it will stay here long.

Sounds good, AJ! Please keep us updated.

AJ,
Thanks for the update on the new 682. Regards, Chris |
I picked up the tractor today. It's a mess and going to take quite a bit of work. Most everything is completely disassembled so now i need to decide what to do with it. The dash tower has no hydro controls in it. I have them but I need to install them. Both the brake and the lift rockshaft are completely disassembled. No wiring harness in it. it was basically a completely bare frame that was made into a roller and then some sheetmetal put on it. Steering is in place though. I got most of the parts for it. i just have to assemble it. it might have to go 482. I don't think I have any headlights for it. Hmmmmm. I have serial number tags for a 482 and a 682 so it would be technically correct either way.

Well I decided to take the new 682 frame and make it a 482 and take the old 482 frame and make it a 682 and sell it. Here's pis of what I ended up with. The roller by the ramps is the 682 that I just brought home. The painted frame is the one that is going to be a 482. The roller is the one that is going to be a 682.

Looks like you are making notable progress on it so far AJ! I think I see mrcubcadet salivating :biggrin2: and it would do him good to land a red one!! Great pics & congratulations!

Thanks for the pics and update, AJ.

Conner was blowing up my phone for a little while tonight.

Why make a 482 into a 682 and a 682 into a 482??????
|
The 682 frame is in better shape. The original 482 frame is pretty rusty. It's been in pieces for a couple of years now and with a nicer frame as a option, it makes me more motivated to get it finally rebuilt. Conner wanted a 682 so I decided to go ahead and take all my extra parts and build one for him. I would have went ahead and had the 482 sandblasted and powdercoated but I'm not working right now and money is tight. I traded some stuff for the 682 roller so the only money that came out of my pocket to get it was gas to get there.

ok...where did your truck ramp come from? Will it hold a fully loaded Cub? My swing door trailer only has a 16" drop but planks can be a PITA.

Aha!! I finally found this thread! I hope we can land a deal!
If you thought I was blowing your phone up, just wait till I show you how to text bomb! :HeeHee: |

Nice progress, AJ! Thanks for the pic.

Why does it take so much longer to put one together than it does to take one apart? I can tear one down in under 2 hours. I spent 6.5 hours on this sucker today, and it's still not done.
Sorry Conner. No work done on the 682 today. Btw, have a nice first day of school tomorrow!:GoodLuck: AJ |
