New tires!

Just ordered some V61s for the 1250. Wise choice? Go ahead, let me have it! :biggrin2:

_DX3_ 05-20-2012 07:13 PM

Very bad choice. Tell you what, I'll pay for the shipping of them to my house and dispose of them properly. :biggrin2:

You will love those tires.

Diz Jr. 05-20-2012 07:19 PM

They are good looking tires, cant wait to see them on your Cub.

cub1200puller 05-22-2012 10:21 PM

Where did you order them from. I would like a set for my 1650.

bllwnkl 05-22-2012 10:28 PM

M.E. Miller Tire in Ohio.

CADplans 05-22-2012 10:41 PM

With that red stripe on the tire, you may need to paint the tractor to match!!

:biggrin2:

Good looking tires. Let us know what they do better than the previous tires!!

:bigthink:

ACecil 05-22-2012 11:26 PM

They are going to look awesome on your 1250.

I find the floor, some big drivers, silicone spray and some choice words generally works well!

Everything I do is for the exercise!! :biggrin2:

Keeps me away from the sofa.

This is my bead breaker. It works great.

Poor 104 Owner 05-23-2012 05:11 PM

Me too! :biggrin2:

bllwnkl 05-23-2012 05:47 PM

I was thinking about trying to mount them myself, but a guy at work is getting a tire and tube mounted at a mower shop and is going to get a price from them to do mine. If it's too much, I might try it myself. :NailBite:

bllwnkl 05-23-2012 05:58 PM

The previous tires were "bald" smooth rib tires that were on the cub when I got it. :Unknown:

I just let the air out of the tire, then stand it up between the pusher and the press end.
(note the wood splitting wedge is removable/exchangeable and is on the ground)

The two flat areas just squeezes the tire to break the bead off the rim.

The rim is above the flat surface plate.

Here it is as a woodsplitter.

bllwnkl 05-28-2012 10:44 AM

Well,I got the V61s mounted on my rims!

Not sure how much air pressure to use. I put 20 psi in the tubes. Any suggestions?
Waiting for my new wheel bearings to arrive, then I'll get the wheels back on the 1250. By the way, I used this tire changer from HF.

http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/p...pictureid=3143

It worked great! Can't wait to get them on the tractor! I'm happy! :biggrin2:

Iluvtruks0 05-28-2012 12:13 PM

The tire pressure should be listed on the side wall of the tire. I just ordered a set of these for one of my new toys too! I opted to get the free shipping to a local tractor show, but thats 1 month away so the wait is killing me. Yours are looking good though!

bllwnkl 05-28-2012 01:51 PM

Can't find any mention of tire pressure on tire sidewalls. That's why I'm asking.

Poor 104 Owner 05-28-2012 05:23 PM

Max is 28 PSI with max load of 620 lbs. per tire

bllwnkl 05-28-2012 09:25 PM

Thanks, I should be safe at 20# then and can adjust it as needed. But I won't go over 28#! :Salute:

Donovan M. 05-28-2012 09:29 PM

the manuel says 6-8 pounds but my tri ribs have 18psi in them

ACecil 05-29-2012 09:51 AM

Those V61's are looking good!

darkminion_17 05-29-2012 10:30 PM

Nice tires and rims. How much was the tire changer?

bllwnkl 05-29-2012 10:38 PM

The tire changer was on sale for $39.99. Not real heavy duty and some have said they broke theirs right away, but just use common sense. When breaking a bead, keep turning the tire and push, turn and push, you get the idea. Once it gets to a certain spot, it pops the bead. It worked great. I was well pleased. :biggrin2:

bllwnkl 05-30-2012 05:34 PM

OK, once and for all, the tires are finally on! :Woo:

_DX3_ 05-30-2012 06:59 PM

Those look great. I have to definitely get a set for the 1711. I loved those on the other tractors I had with them.

Methos 05-30-2012 10:33 PM

Congrats! They look awesome!

Poor 104 Owner 05-30-2012 10:41 PM

Great lookin tires
Could we get some pics of the bead breaker you bought it looks as if it may be able to be fabricated with little effort sure beats a bumper jack

bllwnkl 05-31-2012 04:55 PM

There's a YouTube video about it. Search for mini tire changer(Harbor Freight).
