He said obo both have original paint ajd in good shape what would be a good price to start at? He spent really care about the tractors as he's a deere fan

Buy it and then :WWP:

You should buy these tractors. The 169 is a very sought after tractor. I was made I think for part of one year and are a very good tractor.
Good luck, Bill |
what?
You haven't bought them yet?
Time's a wastin' man! John:beatdeadhorse: |
well as the guy said they arnt going anywhere anytime soon they are both under alot of junk and what not in his garage (nothing heavy or hard enough to cause damage) and there is the whole thing about money... i think im going to offer 500 and see what goes from there the 169 i would probably fix up and sell (not a big fan of hydro) and the 122 will get fixed and restored to sit next to my 102 (has all the same options besides 3 point and spring assist) it will be a few weeks before i get cash but i will for sure post pics when* i get them

Like previous people have stated, the 169 is a VERY collectible tractor. You might just want to fix it and keep it, even though it is a hydro. :beerchug:

ive thought about keeping the 169 (if the price is right) the guy said he will take 500 for both and he will hold them. also worked a deal out with a friend of mine to go in halfs and he gets the 122. i think i will get the 169 and do a complete restore on it and let it be a garage queen and take it to shows and what not but thats about it i got a little 80 to mow with that is hydro and only reason i got that is it was 50 bucks. how much would a new pto cost for the 169? also they took the hand control out for the hydro drive and rigged up a foot control... how hard would it be to find the correct parts to convert it back considering they didnt hack up anything to badly

The 169 is the exact same tractor as a 149 or a 129, minus the 16hp engine and an hour meter. If you can find parts off a 149, you should be fine.

Ryan is right about the part interchange between 109/129/149 and the 169's as far as the hydro control lever and linkages. When it comes to the pto, make sure you find a late 129/149. The 169's had the late style pto with the pto brake for safety reasons. These can get pricey to rebuild. You could always add the earlier style pto to it if you wanted to. Good luck and post some pics when you get her home. :beerchug:

When I said "engine", I figured that refrenced the muffler, breather, etc.

I would definitely like to know where the cigarette lighter goes! Can you get a pic?

Thanks! I thought that is where the light switch went. So where does the light switch go? Well at least on my 129 I put it there because the manual refers to it there. But the manual talks nothing of the cigarette lighter. I imagine running a power inverter or small air compressor etc off of it. I seen my father-in-law run an electric blower off his Wheel Horse with a power inverter bolted on the hood and hard wired to the battery. Of course I could light cigarettes too!

The headlights switch on mine is on the left side kinda under the hood I can get a pic tommoro its kinda hiddin
