My new 123 - WOO HOO!
4 Attachment(s)
I found this today, called on the ad with no picture and no brand name. The landlord said the tenant was missing and he wanted this tractor gone! I got it for a song. It came with a rototiller, disc and a mower deck.
Its heavy, anybody know what it weighs? Its missing its air cleaner, and 1 sheet metal side panel on the rotor tiller and thats it I believe. It has a right angle gearbox with 2 pulleys, mounted between the rear end and the trailer ball. What exactly is this for? Its now my favorite tractor (I have 5 now, LOL, don't tell my wife.) |
SCORE! You gotta love the ads where the people just don't know or even care so they list them as "mowers." Congrats on such a great find.

This will be my first hydrostatic drive.
Does that mean I have a hydraulic source for a lift? |
If I understand Cubs correctly and your machine hasn't been altered, then no. 149's were the first models to have hydraulic lift as a standard feature. Earlier models may have had this as an option, but I have no info on that. The hydro pump for a hydraulic lift Cub has extra ports for this purpose.

The gearbox on the back is for the tiller.

Nice find on the 123,do you have pictures of your attachments?
|
i wanna say they weigh close to around 600 to 700 lbs.
|
Tiller is around 200 lbs plus the mower deck and disc is 150 lbs or so your looking at almost a 1000 lbs

Nice find on the 123!! Sweet score. You can't use the hydro for a hydraulic lift because the hydro wouldn't be ported. The 123 could have a hydraulic lift added. They bolt on the right side of the tractor and run off the back of the motor. I suppose one could add a ported hydro to the 123, but it would take alot of modifying to get everything to work. I agree with Lew, got any pics of the tiller and disc???? :beerchug:

The 123 is a great tractor and it will become a favorite of yours. The hydraulic lift works off of the rear pulley on the back part of the engine and driveline. They are kind of pricey, but well worth the money--make sure that you get the rockshaft with it when you buy it, as the rockshafts tend to be more difficult to come by than the hydraulic units themselves. Glad you landed into such a great deal! Here is a pic of my 123 with the hydraulic unit on the side. Now, lets see some pics of those attachments...

Thanks everybody, you make me feel real welcome.
Yes I will get pictures of the attachments. I looked it over pretty good for a couple hours today, its quite a solid piece of equipment. I was surprised to see such massive castings on the front and rear axles. I like that, makes me think its going to be re-buildable long into the future. The seat needs to be redone. |
