Thanks guys! I told her, that her 2130 is a better tractor, than the cub at TSC. :beerchug:

Jenn PLEASE keep the 2130 you have until it absolutely collapses, cause by then you can find another real "Cub" that you like (for a LOT LESS). The new LT's just ain't the same quality at all as the older stuff....

They do have nice seats though, I put one on my 108 cause it ain't for show its for mow, and my backside likes that new seat a bunch.
Good luck with your "fever" :biggrin2:

For $3000 I would start looking for a nice SGT, maybe even something red!!:biggrin2::beerchug: I call the new MTDs tinfoil origami, lol:biggrin2:

I can see why she is drawn to the cub at tsc and her 2130. Dont have to turn a wrench to get them going again! Not to mention thats where you come in handy Allen! :biggrin2: They are nice but just not as strongly built as the Ol' IH cubs are, but when it comes to ease and comfort they have it where it counts!

ACecil 01-31-2012 04:26 PM

That's true, Dan! :biggrin2:

Those new Cubs are actually pretty nice, but should only be used for light duty mowing, not heavy duty work.

We bought a new lawn tractor like that one about 6 years ago when the 1650 broke. I was younger and dumber then and I liked it for the first few years. Then I tried to mow around our pond with it and it was more than it could handle. Once we got the 1250 for my uncle to use I got to mow with it a few times and was reminded how much greater the 1650 was. Now since we have the 782D I refuse to use it. Long story short, Jenn should keep her 2130.

No way I'd pay $3000.00 for a belt drive throw away MTD. For that kind of money you can have my 2284 with a 60" deck and I'll put a brand new engine in it with a warrenty. :biggrin2:

ACecil 02-04-2012 07:22 PM

Sounds like a winner to me, Sam! :biggrin2:

Know nothing about the (new) mowers, but I remember a guy who bought a brand new 1330 back in 1992 for $2600.00. And everything I've heard about that style of lawn tractor they were'nt much.
Well I'm here to tell you, I was that guy and that mower cut everything I could throw at it in those twenty years. From ditches to food plots and lawn. I still use it mainly today because of the ease of getting on and off. And have never put a dime into it other than the yearly maintenance. (knock on wood)
Now the old Kohler is getting tired, but it got used hard over those years, granted, it's no GT real cub cadet, but it's been a good little cubmtd.
Good luck in which ever way you go Jenn and Allen.
My 2 cents

It's all good, Todd. Jenn's keeping her 2130, it's a great little tractor.

I was really surprised at how true the first part of this statement is when I was at my local Cub dealer last week picking up some parts. I thought the Cub Cadets bought at a tractor dealership would still be built................ well more tractor like , but not so. The overall quality of construction just is not what it should be. There were 15 Cub LT's there just sitting. Some with flat tires where they had been sitting in one spot for so long. It really is a shame how flimsy Cubs are built thewse days. And Toro made a bad decision when they stopped production of their WheelHorse line of lawn tractors. Darn NAFTA!!!

ACecil 02-17-2012 12:35 PM

I'll take my 100's, over a new cub any day.
