Disassembling the 106

ive come to a halt im not sure if the piece where the creeper controls come up through the frame is part of the frame itself or if that piece comes off some how. it seems to be stuck in the exact same place on both sides but im not seeing any bolts holding it to the actual frame. can somebody help?

Thanks.

That piece doesn't come off, its spot welded to the frame. If I'm reading this right you're talking about the tunnel cover right?

Ahhhh if you are talking about this part of the frame it is indeed part of the frame and does not come off. A negative of the narrow frame.

the pto handle that is on the left side of the tractor has a rod that passes through the pedastal( where the battery box is attached) to engage your pto. my pedastal is missing the bracket to mount the clutch lever(#10) in the link. http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=c...&dn=0011600009
Is that rod held on by a set screw or just a pin. the rod being # 9 and where it attaches to #25 http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=c...&dn=0011600015

I should have a extra bracket if you want it. Part is free but the shipping isn't.:biggrin2: A cotter pin holds it in place.

I'm not sure about #9 and #25.:bigthink:

A spirol pin holds #25 to #9. You may also have a PTO safety switch plate pinned to #9 also. It will be inside the tower. To get to it with ease would probably mean removing the steering wheel and pulling the tower off of the frame.

Can somebody tell me how to disconnect the drive shaft? I'm not sure if its held on by set screws or just pins that can be tapped out.

_DX3_ 10-16-2011 11:32 AM

It should be held in by 1/4" spirol pins. Use some PB Blaster and soak the pins and drive them out.

Have you downloaded the service manual for your 106 yet?

Abeach6882 10-16-2011 12:08 PM

Yeah I've downloaded a couple manuals. Thanks again for the quick response.
