New guy
Hello all, new here and thought I would share my project. Pulled it out of my father in laws barn, had been sitting there for about 7 years. It was bought new back in 1963 by my wifes great grandfather, now it is my new project.

Welcome!! These guys are very friendly and willing to share their knowledge.
Looks great!! I love the originals, my son has a 63 o that is restored. I have a complete 62 that needs to be restored and a 61 in pieces. I can't wait to see your progress. |

I was looking at the wheel weights I have for the rear wheels and was wondering if any one had ever mounted them on the inside of the rim instead of the outside of the rim or if that was even possible, I think it is, but you would have to take the axle out first. Anyone ever try it?

Great looking original. It should be a fun restore.

I'm with you CaptMax....I just noticed this thread today!!! First and a little belated, :Welcome2: and second, yes it is possible to mount the IH wheel weights on the inside of the rims. If you look closely in my picture at the rear wheel, you can see kind of what it looks like if you do. I now have duals on the rearend and do not have the weights on this cub anymore.....sorry, no other pictures of it.
PS> Your restoration looks awesome!!! Keep up the great work!! Cub Cadet 123 |

Wow that is slick looking. I love the tractor treads and tri ribs on it. :beerchug:
|
Great job, your O is looking very sharp!

One more quick video, I took it for a spin around the back yard today after finishing the wiring, runs great, just gotta figure out how to finish the seat pan, its cracked in the normal places, I ran a few weld beads on the bottom today to keep it from cracking any more, but I see a seat cushion in my future. I might get some bigger rear tires as well since I went with the bigger front triple rib tires vice the normal 4.00x8 tires, I used the 16.5x8 triple ribs from chris westfall, they look great and are much bigger, I think bigger rears would really look great with them.
Thanks for all the comments, it has been a fun project and since it was originally my wifes great grandfather that bought it new, it will be staying in the family. I also was able to get all of the original paperwork that came with it they day it was bought. http://youtu.be/pI7d7VUldAs |

Great progress!!!! That O is really looking sharp!!! If you are worried about the ags on the back looking skinny with the tri-ribs on the front, then you might consider duals on the rear......
