108 and Original Trip~Gottem Home~

Just got back from my 4th visit at a W.TN farm. Beautiful clean farm and IH is evident everywhere from 100's of hp down to the die cast! We unloaded my haul there and loaded the 108 and 62 Original for the haul back. Windy and Chilled from the elements we took a short stroll to the cabin to warm up and a cup of coffee. No electricity,150+ yr back in time when I stepped in,beautiful vintageness everywhere!

Like Jude he would sleep with a M&W 9 speed (really,he would!). He sent me this email 1:00 am this morning. My old 100 W/ Mott mower and I think it's gonna stay or found it's place together...nice marriage!

ACecil 04-17-2011 10:19 AM

Loving the 100's also, Kevin...LOL! :beerchug:

timds 04-17-2011 10:53 AM

wow... where were you at the disneyland of cub cadet and ih stuff.

red56turbo 04-17-2011 02:31 PM

First of all, nice 108/sicklemo and original. I really, really want one of those sickle mowers!!!!!
Second of all, what a nice collection. He has a ton or hard to find things and rarity in his collection.
Thanks for all the pics.

Mountain Heritage 04-17-2011 03:21 PM

That was one SWEET trip! Lucky guy! That Mott mower is pretty cool, not sure which I would want more if I had to choose just one....the front mount Mott, or the Haban sickle bar mower. Both are classic and would be useful. That 982 looks great with the 23* Firestones on it. I like the little "moon" caps. :biggrin2: Thanks for sharing the pictures.

gcbailey 04-17-2011 03:58 PM

wow, wow, wow.... that is total sweetness. What's on the front tires of the 100 with the Mott?

Sminkey 04-17-2011 09:27 PM

WOW:bigeyes: Sweet honey hole!! I'm totally lovin that 71:beerchug:

I see a quiet line with at least one side panel in there! If you ever go back see about those, I am after a pair if the price is reasonable.

ACecil 04-18-2011 12:21 PM

Kevin, they look awesome together! :beerchug:

red211 04-18-2011 01:38 PM

Does the sickle mower pull as hard as the deck mower does? I am thinking it shouldn't pull the engine much, but that's a guess. Might just want to hit the yard with that thing!!!! Sure would get some looks here in the big city, most people have never seen a sickle mower before much less ran one.

Randi,it doesn't at least the last one didn't. This one was still strapped to a pallet stored in a shed for years, then bought and mounted to this 108 and has about 2 hrs use...I'm ready to add some hrs to it soon!

Dude! That may happen for you about the panels! Got some more QL parts coming and another trailer load Original pile...two 4 digit tranny's and another roller. Will PM you about the QL engine covers if I get them.

CC1450 04-20-2011 10:31 AM

Awesome thanks! They are by no means something I am in a hurry to lay hand on, more like something that would make a nice finishing touch.

I am truly impressed by how dedicated some of you are to these tractors and restoring them. Keep up the good work and keep the pics a comin!:beerchug:
