Yea, I will do more updates on that thread after some "testing time".

Supposed to be 60 degrees today, that ought to be good for testing!!

Flatbedford 01-06-2012 10:49 AM

I'd like to see more on that too. There are always WH blades on my local Craig's List, but rarely CC. I need a setup for my new to me 149.

4SPEED 01-15-2012 06:49 PM

here is my 582 it been upgraded to a 16hp B&S and I made the wheel weights. there hard to see, but are 30lbs each .

sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

4SPEED 01-15-2012 07:26 PM

Look'n good...how you like the ag's on the front?? Love your Icon picture...SWEET car!

Cubcrazy 01-15-2012 08:24 PM

Nice 582! It came from the factory with the 16 hp Briggs.

About time Allen!:biggrin2:

4SPEED 01-15-2012 08:32 PM

the stock turf tires would fill with snow and not let it turn with the blade down.

the ag tires help a lot to turn. but if I turn sharp right the tire get stuck on the the rod for the blade, if the blade is down.

and thanks , that my baby in my avatar. it one of 3 I have. 68, 77 and this 79

Serial and spec numbers off the tag will help figure how old it is.

Ive had them on for 4 years now. love them. but going threw the wet yard in the spring will make the wife mad , they rut it up. then I tell her she'll get over it.

Cub Cadet 123 01-15-2012 11:05 PM

Great looking cubs guys!

4speed, the 582 looks ready for business! Most will run the front ags in the reverse of what you have them, with the V of the ags pointing backwards for easier steering with them. I'm getting ready to mount my narrow ags on the front of my 129 after I get the rims back from the painter.

Allen, sharp blade. I like the scraper blade-it looks heavy duty. Where did you get it at? Hope you get some snow your way soon!

Chris, I like the looks of a red 147 (and with the hood, a red-white-blue paint scheme. Your seat looks very comfortable, too!

Keep the pics coming!

Cub Cadet 123

ACecil 01-15-2012 11:16 PM

Thanks Cub Cadet 123, it's diamond plated. The guy that painted the blade, had it and installed it for me. :beerchug:

4SPEED 01-15-2012 11:45 PM

here is a better pic of it. needs a seat bad , more and more cracks every time I put my large bum in it. I have the grill and the side covers, just have not put them on yet. and have other issues with it , but will post all that another day.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...i/104_2434.jpg

I picked this one up last month. I've never pushed snow with a Cadet (always used a Farmall H) but I've got about 20 years seat time on a NF cadet.

Have to get chains at least before the snow flies!

ACecil 06-04-2012 07:12 PM

Nice 147 and blade! You can always push some dirt around. :biggrin2:

Yep it's JUNE! For more years than I want to remember I plowed the driveway from h**l with my 1210. Those days are done. The BX is now in charge of snow and because I've moved to VA from CT I don't worry too much about the white stuff. Pic of the 1210 and the BX attached. Gotta go kill some grass. Then enjoy a cold one by the pool. :beerchug:

Wheel weights , you really need to get wheel weights. Good chains and wheels weights make all the difference.

The Bota has 4 wheel drive, chains, loaded rear tires and 110lb wheel weights in each rear wheel. Git Er Done :biggrin2:

Looks like your 147 has the tiller gearbox already on it, so use the tiller to break up the drifts and the blade to move it where you want it.:biggrin2: I have heard of Christmas in July, so you are only about a month early! Great picture. Thanks for sharing it. There are a lot of neat cubs in their winter attire in this thread--hope you check them out!

Right after this pic. I switched it back to mowing. The blade still needs a bit of work. They are saying 90s by monday..so I think I'm good.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Here's my 105 with a cc36 thrower after a trial run with the white stuff here in CT. Pretty sure the belt had minimal tension and was slipping quite a bit. Since the tensioner bolt was completely loose when I bought it, it only hit me a few hours later(after I had given up) what the manual means by "turn the tensioner counterclockwise to apply tension to the belt." "ohhhhh thread the bolt in clockwise first and then bring that little nut all the way down to the bracket so when you turn counter clockwise it pulls down!" duh.

Gonna try again tomorrow after some fiddling and hopefully a waxing of my auger and chute. Chains off amazon seemed to work well, dont even think i need to put the weights on:

Wow!!! That Windbreaker windshield is spotless and the auger is in motion---a Hulk of a snow machine.....just yellow and not green (thank goodness!). Great action pic!

BTW> Great to see this thread come back with so many neat photos of cubs in their snow attire. I had all but forgotten about this thread! I'm glad to see someone remembered it.
