It's a factory hole next to the ignition switch.

Got an O'Reilly's near you? They're $7 there.....

Oh yeah, that’s a much better price J-Mech, thanks.

64fleetside, I have a formerly chrome plated plug in that spot now, that’ll work great. That looks like a push/pull type switch, looks great, thanks.

Too much coin for me, I used $3 rubber truck tailight grommets and two #4411 bulbs, spent $20 or so for lights. Cut the holes with a jigsaw and sheetmetal blade. Snips might work better if yours has mesh, mine is a sheetmetal plate just a little thick for snips. Used a chrome plated brass boat headlight switch in the OE hole. Good enough for govt work, IMO.
Just an option if you are not a perfectionist.

Smart K.I.S solution! You did a great job! I prefer a Dremel with a small cutting disk to cut the opening instead of a jigsaw or snips for mesh grill. Looking at the price they ask for mesh grill for Cub Cadet on EB I'm tempted to make some with my plasma and sell them.. :bigthink:

Thanks, Oldskull. I just couldn't justify a Bennie for headlight setup.

Years ago I worked as a custom boat builder. Ideas were always king. We were always coming up with stronger, faster, cheaper, easier, better ways of doing things. And no idea was ever ridiculed. So I thank you all for your continued input. I had been considering sandwiching the perforated metal grill between two blocks of wood and using a hole saw to cut the holes for the lights but the dremel is such a great idea, thanks.

So as I wrap my head around the job of wiring the headlights a few things come to mind;

Anyone have pictures of stock location for horn button?, cigar lighter?

Thanks again.

I don't think any cub came a horn. Cigar lighter is upper right corner of the dash on my 108, 149. It has a plug in the hole.

Horn was an earlier option....

Letter "K" about the middle of the page, left hand side, just below the headlights.

I guess I’m not the first guy with such an idea;

Like kostendorf said,

My wife said she would run out with a cold drink if I had a horn.
